What January game(s) are you most looking forward to?

Decent month for PC gamers, they finally get to play FF7 Rebirth and Spider-Man! As for me, I’m most looking forward to Freedom Wars Remastered! Not sure if I’ll get it right away though. What about you, SW? What January game(s) are you most looking forward to?

Kinda intrigued by Virtua Fighter 5. Will wait for port report, though.

I still have to complete Spider-Man 1 and Miles Morales, so I might delay getting Spider-Man 2 for a while. They're on my playlist, but it's packed.

Edit: oh shit, I forgot about Eternal Strands, the new game from Mike Laidlaw, ex-BioWare guy. Yeah, will wait for reviews on that one.

Nothing really grabbing me in January. Probably just get something that came out previously.

I might give Orcs Must Die a shot. Beyond that, nothing really interests me.

I see nothing that I want. But The Stone of Madness looks pretty cool, and it's from the makers of the Blasphemous games, which are good.

Probably just Spiderman 2 for the boys, they really want to play as Venom.

Pre-ordered Rebirth for PC, and that'll be about it for January.

A new Sniper Elite huh, will play it, but will wait a year or two when all the dlc has been released and on sale like I did with 5 as Rebellion love to milk its fanbase by cutting missions and releasing them later at ridiculous prices.

@boiled-hotdug: Howlong to beat is telling me Remake Integrade is only 32 hours. I'd like to finish that in four weeks. Helps that we have some holidays here and there.

Ps did you finish all the Kingdom Hearts on PC?

@R4gn4r0k: No 😭 That’s my issue I have so many JRPG’s. I have Persona 5 Royal, VII Remake, & I only beat the first Kingdom Hearts and watched the cutscene movie for Chain of Memories since I don’t like the card deck aspect of that game

I have no love for JRPGs, but this morning I was playing Final Fantasy VII remake before work and it's a game that has me so hooked that I could play it for hours on end.

RPGs are at their best with a good action heavy combat style, and overall the game is very well paced.

If you want good games, I suggest looking into well paced ones. Ones that can have variety in their gameplay styles.

I would like to put it like these: the best shooters are those that constantly switch up their gameplay with other stuff besides shooting (puzzles, driving sections). The worst shooters are those where you do nothing but shoot your guns xD

Or another analogy: the best soup is that with lots of variety of vegetables in them. And many games, well mate they are just water boiled up to a certain degree, it gets boring :p

Nothing. Now that Path of Exile 2 early access is out, I am doomed! I hit 164 hours today and it has only been a few weeks. This really might be the end of me!

FF7 remake was great and probably waiting to play rebirth on PC january.

hate JRPGs but FF7 surprised me.

Nothing. I am busy with Stalker 2 and Indiana Jones anyway.

Rebirth is huge compared to Remake.

@SolidGame_basic: This slip my mind. Forspoken is coming to Xbox Series in Late January 2025 (23rd I think) as the console exclusive to Sony is expiring this Month for January.

Dynasty Warriors I guess? Not a massive fan of the series but I enjoyed 4, 8, and Samurai Warriors 4 - what little I played of them.

Probably won't get a third version of Virtua Fighter 5, but I'm happy to see it come to PC. Means VF6 should get released there too.

I've never played a sniper elite game... Have a few on my wishlist and never "pull the trigger"... Honestly it's slow mo kill cam that looks awesome... How's the rest of those games?

@TheEroica: the xray and slowmo is kind of gimmicky at first. But as the series goes along, especially with 4 and 5 you get awesome parkour abilities. You get to pick vantage points... It's become a solid singleplayer experience.

As for other modes, there's a coop mode where one is a spotter and the other takes shots. And then there's my favourite mode: Invasion.

So one player is doing a mission, minding his own business (their own business in coop). And then you join as this axis sniper and try to snipe them. It's a cat and mouse game and it's extremely satisfying. You can spring traps, out smart other players, play like a real jerk. It's all extremely fun.

All of that sounds fun... 😀 Which one should I start with. 4?

Unfortunately, I find the next few months as being quite dry. I'm finishing Indiana Jones and will use this month to get at some Xmas games.

Donkey Kong should be $40 at most. Nintendo, you even admitted you figured out a good pricing structure with Metroid Prime Remastered! What happened?

Interesting that PC is getting arguably the two biggest PS5 exclusives this month.

Not a single game there that stands out. Wuthering Waves is on my radar to see how it does. It is only a 68 on Open Critic so far.

It is interesting that Metroid Prime Remastered launched at $40. They must’ve thought it was very niche.
