Ok, im probably gonna sound like a noob here, but what kind of RPG is Dragon Age?? Ive heard, and read different stories from it being a traditional WRPG in the likes of Oblivion, or a turn/squad based dungeon crawler. Ive also heard comparisons to baldurs gate, but ive never played those sadly. Its made by bioware so i know it will be great, so could you guys break it down on a noob level for me

Thanks in advance :)

It is a RPG. Like pure RPG. Not some hybrid or a game that pretends to be a RPG. It is just a RPG. Sounds weird I know, but it is how I look at it.

traditional WRPG in the likes of Oblivion

That's really not what I'd call a traditional WRPG. :|

If you've played any of the previous Bioware games (Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Knights of The Old Republic, Mass Effect) then.. it's gonna be similar. In setting, most similar to Baldur's Gate and in gameplay AFAIK most similar to KOTOR.

I don't know it looks like a typical WRPG except the combat looks like Wow.

This and although I loved BG2 I think those types (pause and play) method RPG's are a little outdated

Try playing a game like Kotor (if you prefer consoles, otherwise Baldur's gate and Planescape: Torment are definitely games to check out on PC as imi sure DA will harken back to the good old days of the cRPG) and you might understand on how the game will play... i haven't seen any gameplay videos, but id assume its an action based combat system with the ability to pause the game and issue attacks to your party members.

No, you would be talking about Traditional RPGs/Roguelikes/Dungeon crawlers.

Dragon Age is an Western Action/Point and Click RPG.
