I think that was Silent Cartographer. That level was great too
Was it? My bad.

Yeah, Assault on the Control Room was the level with the snow right after the beach level.
Thats like calling Guardian a reamke of Lockout.

Well it's not an exact remake, but it is still technically a remake. I just really want them to remake Hang em High again, that was my favorite level in Halo 1.

Yeah, the vehicles portions in Halo 3 were the best in the series IMO. I felt the third installment could use more optional stealth situations which made Assault on the Control Room my favorite SP level in the Halo trilogy. That level had everything
The beach assualt that started that level was the moment Halo 1 went from a pretty good FPS to a great one IMO.
that entire level was one of the best levels in the series in my opinion.
I believe the best level of the series would go to The Covenant.Name one thing that level didn't have.

BTW Halo and Halo 3 CONSISTS of these gameplay scenarios, if you're telling me this never happens then your flat-out lying.
TyrantDragon55
Well I don't really remember places in Halo 3 in which you can just stealth assassinate all/most of the enemies which is a shame because I loved that part of Halo CE so much
I liked that they focused more on vehicle usage in Halo 3. I wished they would do that more for the Multiplayer. It is why I like big team.I hope thye make a new coagolation, Terminal, and turf. They made a new Coagulation, it's called Valhalla.

it didnt have enough cowbells:P
i agree..that level was action packed and the music really helped.

The option for stealthy assassinations:( But it was my favorite Halo 3 level. The battle with the 2 scarabs and the music playing in the background was amazing and how the music ended perfectly when the battle came to a close. Very nice

not really though I preferred Halo 1 version better. You know darn well that Valhalla is no where near as fun as coagalation.True, but it's still technically a remake. I guess they could do a straight remake like they did with Lock Out though, that would be cool. They need to remake Beaver Creek while they're at it.

Oh man that level was awesome. I went at like a scene from a movie. Instead of blowing up the legs or using the Hornet I used the gost. Flew off a ramp, exited out of the ghost and went on a killing spree on the Scarab.Man i think I am going to go play Halo 3 now.

Ivory Tower was cool, not my favorite though. The only problem with Beaver Creek is that the Rocket Launcher is pretty much right next to the Overshield, fix that and it'd be a great map.

Ivory tower is the best objective map. They need to remake that too.halo was microsofts big hype plan to make money. heck, i even think the live-action movie was all a big lie to hype the awareness of the game and sell more- because once halo 3 came out, the whole movie thing was scratched and the only thing the guy supposed to direct the movie ever made was some cheesy live action shorts that revealed nothing of the actual gameronniepage588
the live action clip took place afew mins before halo 3 started....
and i pretty sure the movie wasnt cancelled..just put on halt

[QUOTE="Corvin"]Halo 3 seems to be an example of a game being greater than the sum of its parts. I thought the campaign flowed incredibly well, despite some underwhelming sections. The controls were tight, the gameplay was fun and often very intense. The online is one of few that I actually bothered to play for any considerable length of time. Playing co-op with two of my friends on Live was a great experience as well.
Considering its pedigree I don't doubt it was overhyped by a good number of people. But that doesn't change the fact it is an all-around solid game.
Brettheman12
Well Said. Halo 3 is the most polished game I have ever seen. Everything works just like its supposed to. The matchmaking is blazing fast, and a huge number of people play it.
The "Sandbox" of elements in Halo is just amazing too. Think of CoD4 and how nothing moves or changes except the cars that blow up. Wow, big deal. In Halo 3 there is way more stuff going on at once. First of all there is all of the respawning weapons, powerups, fusion coils, etc... Everything that you think can move, moves. It is just so much more interesting than all of the other games. There is way more stuff to do.
Forge, and theater mode make even more things to do. There are like endless maps that are going to be made. The fileshare system makes every map easilyaccessiblewith amazing gametype options. Tons of custom games. There is just way more to do in Halo than any other game.
Play Half-Life 2: episode 2 or portal. NOTHING comes close to that.
I wish Forge actually let you make maps from the ground up, but meh...
agreed with rest of post, though I don't understand how you used the word "Sandbox"
[QUOTE="Vasichko"]That isn't true. So many people suck at the game it isn't even funny. Oddly enough everyone I know that sucks at Halo likes COD4 and are somewhat decent at it.And probably use the M-16 all the time...Beause its a game any one can pick up and half way decent at. Everything about it is easy.

I didn't get into Halo until Halo 2 when I ended up playing co-op campaign with a friend of mine. I somewhat played Halo: CE before at one of my friends house mostly the online team death match(back then you could of played online games using Gamespy) than the campaign, but I wasn't into it(was during my CS phase).
I found the campaign enjoyable from the gameplay to the story with the Covenant and the Flood. I like how it's different and fresh compare to other fps games out there. I was amazed with the A.I. on how smart they were. they would dodge, run away, call for backup, attack you kamikaze style, etc compare to most fps games where they just attack or run at you. I normally hate using vehicles in fps games, but i like how bungie integrated vehicles in the game. It's cool some of the vehicle's you can use it cooperatively and others you can fly around with it. My favorite level has to be The Arbiter when you fly the banshee to escort a phantom ship and get to fight other banshees.
I played with my friends online and also have LAN with them from playing normal to custom games like infestation. I found LAN-ing more enjoyable(even 4 player split-screen) rather than meeting my friends online to play Halo together. After throwing and going to couple of Halo LAN parties i understand why so many ppl do it.
ALso I wish they had an all war mission like they did in Halo 1/Halo 2.
In Halo 1 the last mission. You are fighting the covenant and the flood. Who are fighting each other. A nice 3 way battle.
In Halo 2 there was the Covenant civil war.
In Halo 3. Nothing. You fight 1 side, but never both.
I personally would have loved an open environment with a ton of vehicles and enemies. Master Chief vs Covenant vs Flood.
Thats what Halo 3 needed. A BIG ALL OUT WAR. THe closest they had was The Covenant. Great mission, but not amazing.
[QUOTE="black_awpN1"]Halo hasnt really been Amazing since Combat Evolved.too_much_eslimThat is because you are comparing it to itself. The first game is normally the best in every series. The real reason I think many people are disappointed with Halo is that they change a lot of things that made the first Halo so great.Agreed. My biggest gripes with the sequels (still) are how the melee lunges you forward, the way they gimped the pistol, ruined the effectiveness of grenades, and how poorly they adapted the old maps to the new tweaked gameplay. I mean, the game was hardly any fun with four players anymore. You had to have at least 8 players to enjoy it. I still love all the halos don't get me wrong. Still if I had to choose the worst, it would be halo 2.
[QUOTE="Vasichko"]That isn't true. So many people suck at the game it isn't even funny. Oddly enough everyone I know that sucks at Halo likes COD4 and are somewhat decent at it.Beause its a game any one can pick up and half way decent at. Everything about it is easy.

When matched against ppl who are same rank as me I tend to be the worst player out of all of them most of the times. It's funny how when it comes to cod4 and rsv I'm usually unstoppable. CoD4 is really easy maybe it's cause I'm more use to those type of games.
[QUOTE="-GhostMLD-"]I wish Halo 3 did more fan service in terms of multiplayer maps on the disk. If you meant we should have got more multiplayer maps on the initial game, I agree. We only have 17 after 2 downloads, and those two should have been freebies. Especially heroic, the only thing good about that download was Foundry, Legendary DLC on the other hand, hauls ass. Remaking Lockout was exactly what I wanted, Avalanche is a really, really, really, and I mean really good Objective (particularirly Multi-Flag/Multi-Bomb) Game based map, and Ghost Town seems unique (altough I barely know the overall layout of the map, I'm starting to learn it. They both still didn't warrant 10 dollars though, I shouldn't have to pay 1/3 (that's including both map packs) the games retail price for just over half the multiplayer maps we started with...Halo made the Xbox launch a success
Halo 2 saved LIVE from extinction and provided addictive multiplayer
Halo 3 just sold well and destroyed PS3 in September NPD. Fan tributes like forge and save films were a nice addition.
Its a mix of gameplay equally blending firing, melee, and grenades. The story is good and is only better if u read the novels.
too_much_eslim
It doesn't take much to be good at Halo and the game features a ton of western-styIe "action." That is why it is praised so highly. Compared to most other shooters on PC and some on console, it really doesn't stack up to all the praise it receives which is generally from a mostly North American audience.
Ever since I first played the first game on Xbox I've been saying it is an "average" shooter and will stand by that until I die.
foxhound_fox
Wrong. It doesn't take much to learn Halo, being good at it is a different story.
