What makes PC so much more surperior to consoles?

I am thinking and I can't think of too many advanteges. I know you can replace parts to make games look better, but since when does graphics=the overall game? If people can explain why PC is much more surperior please tell me. And no, I don't hate PC gaming, in fact I prefer it.

Nothing really, you can pay hundreds of dollars more to play a slightly/negligibly better looking port for the PC or you could just play the game as it was mean't to be on a console.

Hmm, I'll compose a quick list

Mods

Better graphics

Games tend to run smoother

And Steam.

(Though I do prefer playing on Consoles)

The graphics, the options, the mods, the variety, the backcatalog, the sales, the controls, the customization, the usb ports. SO. MANY. USB. PORTS. There's at least 10 on my case you have no idea. I can plug in my keyboard and mouse and wireless headphones and hand warmers and micro fridge all into the back of my computer while I play some quality titles.

The massive amount games. And it's an open platform, I value that freedom a lot. At this stage I couldn't stand a closed platform being my primary gaming system, consoles are great supplements though.

Crushing technical supremacy?

It all results in better graphics (resolution, AA, AF), better quality sound, more options, faster load times and the open platform allows you to do so much more if you want to.

But the consoles still offer a decent experience - better graphics and sound are only noticable if you have something to compare it against, and even then you may not really see the fuss in the middle of playing a game. But as a long time PC gamer, I do see in the few times I've played on a console the poorer quality graphics they have, particularly the lack of anti-aliasing.

for me this generation. Only generalization I could make is that SWTOR will not be used as a point towards the pc vs console debate.

Also, all you really need to do is restart to get rid of a BSOD. I've caused one by running a youtube video while updating my graphics drivers. Not the smartest idea in retrospect, but all I had to do was restart and reinstall. Console failures are usually a bit more catastrophic from what I've seen.

Perhaps Demons Souls shouldn´t count because it appeals to a minority as well,a niche game. And Catherine. And a ton of well rated console games as well.

Wasn't there a way to fix the 360 RROD by rapping it in a towel and placing it in an oven? I'd love to meet the genius who came up with that idea.

You also have to keep track of all the different warranties to get them repaired without charge if you build your own.

And anime is far from obscure or 'niche'.

It can do everything unlike the PS3.

I'm a old school PC gamer (since wolfenstein) and i must admit that the only thing PC lacks is huge ammount of quality games.The only thing that i like about the PC nowadays is the keyboard-mouse combo for FPS.

If you take care of them and aren't silly, PC's are a lot more dependible than consoles.. which have a tendancy to stop working all on their own.

At least in my gaming experience I've had more console hardware failures than PC hardware failures (5 to 0).

They each have their benifits

Console for the most part just work with the downside being their old hardware

PCs work but I've found Im always running into some sorta problem I must deal with.

If its not the ****** data backup program causing problems with aero effects its tf2 given me random stutter problems. Next think I know its just cause 2 given me mouse lag or crysis 1 just not running anymore.

Freedom, flexibility and the all in one 'syndrome'. Basically, one of the best reasons to play on PC is...alt tab.
