Because it's even more of a rehash of the first one. It has more skins and animations with fighting styles that involve the same 2-input execution.

Sequels is what Sheep want. Just like the whole Dolly thing. More of the same crap.

I enjoyed playing it back on the N64 with the friends, when we would all hang out we would play that game for hours. Then with super smash bros it was the same situation only this time we had about 20 more characters to fight with. With the new one we will have even more available characters but now I sold my Wii so I guess I wont be playing this one. Its just a really fun party fighting game featuring all the great characters from nintendo.

guess what.....this is a gaming message board. i asked a simple question about why the people that like this game think its so special. just because i didnt start a topic with the title: "SHEEP, AND LEMMINGS SUXORZ I MAKE LOVE TO MY PS3 EVERY NIGHT BECAUSE ITS UBER " doesnt mean it should be disreguarded.

its funny what some people want to see on these boards. ask a simple question to actual people who dont get paid for scoring a game high and you get these dweebs saying " your GAME question does not belong on this GAMING MESSAGE BOARD"

GAMING MESSAGE BOARD"

we discuss games and systems, but all we see these days is: "what's so special bout....." If you can't see for yourself AFTER some info searching, the game just isn't for you.

In SSBB nintendo characters fight eachother. you knw it and i know it. it's funny, fast and there are special moves.

considering the exclusion and introduction of various advanced techs and game mechanics, as well as all the other content introduced in brawl, without even needing to mention all the new characters, all of which are unique this time around, id say its been updated substantially compared to other modern fighting games.

I owned a N64 back in the days but never got the original. Never played it too. Never played the GC iteration as well. The game to me seems like a generic fighter with cool characters. I have the feeling the hype is waaaay out of proportion. But you got to hype something as a Wii owner right; the choice is pretty limited

Well anyway, I'll be getting this game and I could be very wrong and love it of course. Want to see what all the fuss is about.

I dont really care for fighting games, but if I were to play one it certainly would not be brawl. There are some really cool looking fighting games that I have seen like virtua fighter and others like it. I would much rather play a game with that looks more realistic. I cant really rag on brawl, because I haven't played any of the games in the series that much, but from what I have played I really dont understand whats so great. I have a wii but I highly doubt I get this game.

It's the contrary bro. If you don't like fighting games in general (Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Soul Calibur) Then you must play SSBB if you are looking to get into a fighting game. SSBB = pure fun and the fighting system is far from being button mashing or lame.

Agreed, if you don't like real fighting games, like the ones mentioned, SSBB may be more to your liking.

SSBB plays far differently than any other fighting game. You don't have the massive button input combos, just a few dozen simple moves. However, whereas other fighters keep you fairly close to the ground, and force you to keep facing your opponent, SSBB gives you huge freedom of movement, and it is an incredibly fast paced game. Me and my brother were playing one on one the other day, showing a bunch of our friends how to really play, and one of my friends just paused the game and told everyone to listen to the clacking of our controllers :P.

Because of the characters! Fat plummer, huge mutant turtle, man eating balloon, snake in a box, malfunctioning toy that shoots electricity and so on! What more could you ask!

Of course ONLY sheep want their big sequels. It's not like HALO 3, COD4, MGS4, FF13 (13!!), Gran Turismo 5 etc, are the most hyped games on their systems. O wait THEY ARE.

its because people love nintendo characters and can settle arguments overwhich one is better. its because its a lot of fun to play with a lot of crazy stuff going on all at once. And its because once you strip away all those crazy things like items and choosing non interfering levels it becomes a very deep fighter.

I never thought a fighting game can have perfect gameplay and flow, move to move. Until I played SSB 64.

So... gameplay.

Also, SSBsare not rehashes.Look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2FWgX520a0

Then theses: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n4s5yB7ZkE, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiZLs2doK8E, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFmGIOcWdsM

Then this:http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamemode/modea/modea10.html

Then, you'll know what i'm talking about.

Did they put Mega Man in the game? I haven't been following brawl and don't really care that much.

But if Mega Man's in it then I'll give it a try at a friends house

to the TC: The characters and mini games (fitting for the Wii isn't it) are probably what draw people to it and make it special.

No Mega Man has not been anounced. And SSB does not have mini games. The draw of the game is in part characters, but also like its been said many times over the fast paced and free moving combat. Its easy to pick up but still has quite a great deal of depth and finesse to it.

Super Smash Bros. is very easy to pick up and play yet it can take years to master. It strikes a perfect balance between appealing to the casuals and hardcore. The controls IMO are more sharper than other fighting games and the action is very intense. It also gives you more freedom then other fighters. Every battle is different. It is also incredibly addicting. The Gameplay is pretty balanced too except for some characters like pikchu and mr. game and watch (chances are they will be removed from brawl anyways). Its pretty innovative too. It's different than most fighters. But yeah, thats the basic sum up.

It doesn't matter if it looks more realistic, it matters which one has the better gameplay in the end and that is why Brawl is ultimately better

Why is it so special? Because its predecessors are like crack cocaine, digitized and pressed onto a disk. It's one of the most addictively fun experiences you will ever have.
