What series are you getting sick of?

What game series are you guys getting sick of and how do you think devs could improve the series?

For me:

Tekken: I need more than just new graphics. I'd really like them to shake up the formula a bit. Tekken 5 to me was just Tekken 4 with nicer graphics (and they weren't that much nicer).

Soul Calibur: Same story with Tekken. SC3 was pretty much SC2 with better graphics. Come on Namco, be creative please.

Dynasty Warriors: So much potential for this series. Shake up the formula Koei. Instead of making 3 versions of each DW, make one, and make it really good.

That's me. What about you guys? What series are you getting sick of and how could they improve?

These threads tend to attract fanboys alot who just want to annoy those of opposing parties... Expect alot of Halo, MGS, and Super Mario type answers.

Dynasty Warriors? Blasphemy!... OK not really. Still, I did enjoy the series along with devil kings, wich was also preatty good.

As for Tekken I have to agree. Tho again I still enjoy them.

SC....... I only agree with you because of SC3. And quite frankly, I'm a little skeptical about SC4 because of this. Still, I have faith and the fact that I love the series helps as well.

As for my examples... Well ... I really can't think of anything... Tho I'm certain that with some thought, I would probably not shut up about it for the rest of the day :P.

Metal Gear Solid. It is not the greatest series ever. I played through MGS2, it sucked. I'm tired of people claiming that it is the greatest series ever. Final Fantasy is the greatest series ever. There is more story in one Final Fantasy game, than in the whole Metal Gear Solid series.krafty27

A good love story is actually hard to write. :?

As for MGS (even as a fan), I think it's more a case of what new twist can we do the story to continue the franchsie, rather than what game can we add to the franchise b/c of the story.

I'm sorry, I just don't get it. I've played through half of Ocarina and through about 12 hours of TP for Wii. I can tell a lot of effort went into the games, but something is just holding me back from loving it like I loved Okami. One thing is the sound: it needs to fixed. The sound almost ruins the whole atmosphere for me, and after playing games like Okami, Oblivion, and Tomb Raider: Anniversarywhich havefantastic soundtracks, it's hard to go back to the MIDI sound. The gameplay is almost too simple with hack-and-slash combat and pretty easy puzzles. I really dislike how you gain a new item, use it for a dungeon, and then never use it again.

To be honest, I just get very, very bored while playing, and it almost feels like a chore to play it. I feel like I'm SUPPOSED to love this series because it is such a favorite, but I just can't.

Feel free to love the series, and I'm not saying the game sucks, but I just DON'T like Zelda. I'm sorry :(

Well never liking Zelda in the first place is one thing. Getting sick of the series, when you actually like them is another.

Another recently that has caught my attention among some of the examples of this topic, are the Tales series.

Even though both OoT and TP are very "Zelda-y", I wouldn't base the entire series on those two games alone. In the Oracles, you never not use an item again. Majora's Mask has awesome atmosphere (especially in Ikana). Zelda II isn't even an action/adventure like the others.

Anyway...

I'm getting sick of Mario Party -- I KNOW Nintendo can turn the series around and make the games feel original all over again... so why aren't they?

Mario.....slightly....I'm hoping SMG can revive it for me.

Zelda needs a re-haul IMO also. TP did not do much for me.

Sonic (ok, it has reached it's glory days, but seriously has gone steadily downhill after that. Maybe some success on the Wii?).

I would love it if Sega made a Phantasy Star game in the vein of PS1-4. But if you're talking about the Online games, then you're right.

I wouldn't say I'm getting sick of it, but I do expect a pretty big change for the next Wii Zelda. Hopefully Nintendo can deliver the goods.

Mario is getting terribly repetitve and bland. I really do miss those Super Mario World/ Mario Bros. 3 days.

i mean its on the 8th game already. i could swear one year for the gamecube it came out twice like mp6 and mp7 in the same year. im probably wrong but that is how annoying this game has become.

I see people saying God of War but none of them have explained. I for one really want more of those games.

Otherwise I agree with Need for Speed. They really need to put a lot of effort into this game to get more people back into this game.

final fantasy- incredibly repetititve not exciting and if I wanted a frickin love story I'd go and watch the soap opera network

sonic- How many games are they going to make for this series? Not to mention that every wannabe gangsta kid at my school thinks sonic is "ballin".

Megaman- Is there like 40 games in this series? If they made another Megaman Legends, then I wouldn't be tired of this series.
