TC reviews are just opinions so get over it by now. SMG was great game to play and any graphic deficiencies didn't distract from it. Are you some graphics whore who only thinks that games that have the best graphics should win GOTY. Go buy a Wii or just move on as the critics have spoken and they love SMG2.

ive never sold/given away any of my old consoles. I still own my atari 2600/7200, nes,snes, master system, genesis/megadrive, saturn, dreamcast, gamecube, ps1,ps2,ps3, xbox, xbox 360. Is that games are given review scores that are judged against the current library on THAT PARTICULAR CONSOLE, thats why psp and ds games can score 9's, 9.5's and 10's in categories like graphics/sound as they are compared to other games on THE SAME CONSOLE and not as a whole. For example a game on the Wii that scores a 10 in graphics only gets that score because its judged against all other wii games and in comparison to the Wii library of games it is incredible and deserves a 10 however if the game was on the 360/ps3/pc with EXACTLY the same graphics, it would only score a 6 at best. So Mario Galaxy 2 as good as it must be only really shows how weak the rest of the Wii library really is.

You are lucky that the 360 and the PS3 aren't compared to the PC then. If you think about it, it is a lot more difficult to get that kind of graphical and sound quality on the Wii than it is on the HD consoles, which is something you completely neglect. Another thing is that more advanced hardware does not account for the meticulously crafted and creative level design, as well as the imaginative music. It takes vision and creativity to do that, and that is a quality that is restricted to the PS3 or 360.

In his review, Tom McShea referred to Super Mario Galaxy 2 as the best platformer on ANY console, ever released to this date. To quote the GameTrailers review, "There is more creativity in single levels than there are in entire other games." Sorry, but the supposed power of the 360/PS3 does not account for any of that.

If I was to try and make of all this discussion seem even more pointless by saying that "MGS4 was the first AAAA exclusive of this gen, so who cares - a bit late to the party SMG2?", does that help?

I think I've diagnosed TC's problem. He is confusing graphical prowess with quality of a game. Graphical standards are the only thing that differs between consoles, and if SMG2 was on 360/PS3 EXACTLY how it is, it would still get a 10 because of the gameplay.

As much as i love Bayonetta, and God, i really love this game (one of my favorite this gen), not even the almighty sexy witch have a chance when it comes to a Super Mario Game.
