well we need a good warhammer 40k game thats for sure, games workshop keeps giving the IP to fail devs like mythic and relic (im sorry but DOW wasnt very good)
or they can make more halo games?

New IP they been working on behind the scenes should be ready to go as a launch title for the next MS console - will it be another phenom franchise ? It's Bungie so chances are very good. :D
Firstly, Dawn of War and it's sequel were great.
Secondly, Bungie are apparently doing something that isn't Halo, so I guess we should wait to see what they're doing with that. A new IP is my guess.

they hated microsoft enough to do 2 exclusives with them, and pretty much give MS first dibs on all Bungie projects when it comes to publishing rights(althoug this is more alleged info brought up by the media). Bungie knows where there bread is going to be buttered and what system their fanbase has already. That would be the 360 and the XBOX brand. Not to say they won't branch out(I expect them to do something PS3 or atleast PC) sooner or later. But If they do exclusives it will be 360 stuff.[QUOTE="Ultizer"][QUOTE="SecretPolice"]

W/o Bungie, the 360 might not even have existed.
So thanks you lads....

Halo which is made famous and essentially Bungie's baby. Plain and simple the people on Bungie.net who love Bungie also happen to love Halo. If they love Halo they have bought a 360 to enjoy the work of Bungie and Halo. No matter how you cut it the 360 has a strong following for Bungie. Something that the PS3/PC/Wii just don't have because Bungie hasn't made a game for the PC, nintendo platform, sony platform in almost a decade. (Halo 1 and 2 PC was not Bungie).[QUOTE="Ultizer"]

the 360 would have, with the ps3's terrible start, microsoft would have jumped on that, but xbox 1 probly would have flopped hard.
Dawn of War is awesome. I'm not much of a fan of DoW II, mainly because it's too good for my PC, & Steam made it damn near impossible to play when I didn't have a decent Internet plan (Being Australian, I still don't), but I know it's a good game.
I hope Bungie make a new IP, but I'm not fussed if its first person or not. I'm not a big Valve fan, but everyone praises them & I don't know of any non-FPS game they have made. I would love to see Bungie team up with Double Fine (AKA Tim Schafer) for something. A developer with amazingly solid, fluid gameplay & a developer with an amazing sense of humour & wit, with an incredibly original mind. Won't happen, but I know it would be awesome.

No crap hence why I said I expect them to do something PC/PS3 sooner or later as well as the 360. I just said that if they did an exclusive it would be a 360 title. On top of that they have shown they are more than willing to do exclusive games with the 360. No where did I rule out a PS3/PC title from them. I just said that they clearly have no beef with Microsoft and have no problem doing an exclusive for the 360.Halo which is made famous and essentially Bungie's baby. Yeah but think of the money MS spent on Bungie and how much they're paying them to keep Reach and exclusive...I'll think Bungie will manage with those profits for a while, they're not gonna starve..
And anyway, this top-secret new IP is almost certainly gonna be multi-platform (on PC at the very least, and possibly on PS3)..
I reckon Bungie might give extra DLC or free content to 360 owners with the new IP as a thank you for loyalty etc. but other tham that, after Reach, the days of Bungies exclusives will be well and truly over..
A bit of a shame, but you can hardly blame them and they HAVE given Xbox owners TEN YEARS of consistently excellent titles..
Its time for them to fly the nest.

...wait since when did Valve hate MS? Aren't they bringing Portal 2 to the 360 exclusively (consoles)?Ravensmash
portal 2 on 360 will be a 5 sec quick port, valve are too lazy to work on the ps3 to port it, its always PC for them first, well now steam is coming to mac and maybe linux?

L4D runs fine, oh, and they gave us dedicated servers. Thanks Valve;)
it makes no sense to leave halo. im genuinely confused
"Ok guys.......lets leave a IP that sells multimillion copies with the financial and advertising backup of Microsoft..............and lets make a new game that if were lucky will sell a million lifetime"
ZuneHD
They didn't want to stretch out a franchise that, while i wouldn't say has been dragged on, has been going for ten long years. And yes, they were all brilliant of course, but they don't want to get flak for milking a series for financial gain. And I completley agree with them, they're quitting while there ahead because they want to have credibility in the future.
And plus anything Bungie make in the future will be of the highest quality, and it WILL sell, because of their solid reputation as fantastic game developers.
It might not have the same impact that Halo:CE had, but I'd put my house on it that it's going to be amazing, no matter what genre it's going to be.

well as long as its 360 exclusive or even 360/PC........360 gamers will be happy.
Not everyone is about money. Bungie obviously have some great ideas that don't involve Halo, and they want to turn those ideas into a game. Chances are, it will be a 360 exclusive and Microsoft will be publishing it. And Microsoft are one of the best when it comes to marketing pushes. Look at Gears, a new IP that sold like 6 million or something, so Bungie's new IP could do that easily.it makes no sense to leave halo. im genuinely confused

Steam just decided to expand on a new operating system (MAC OS) because Microsoft is planning to launch a steam equivalent by next year. This doesn't mean Gabe hates microsoft, they just will be on competition (which is why Valve expanded on Macs)[QUOTE="ZuneHD"]Not everyone is about money. maybe.......but in this market.....combined with the fact that humans love earning money........money that is guarantted to come with a Halo game, its weird. Thats all.
Stop pretending that these people dont have bills to pay and families to feed.
But perhaps they can pull off a Gears of War type of sales, which is fine.
I'd say Reach 2, a new Marathon or another FPS.IronBass
The Planet Reach gets glassed by the Covenant at the end of Halo:Reach so it's VERY unlikely a sequel will be made.
And plus Bungie already confirmed Reach will be the last Halo game they make.
As for another FPS, Bungie have done many already so I don't know. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with.

Also, Halo Reach does not follow the events of The Fall of Reach, so maybe it leaves room for a sequel.

While I agree with it being possible, I don't think it's likely.
Bungie have had their fill of Halo for the time being, and want to move on.
But I do think that another Bungie-made Halo way down the line is actually quite probable.

I think you misunderstood. If Bungie work on another Halo, they will get uber amounts of money. If they go down the route of a new IP, which they are, then they will still get a lot of money. We just have to wait and see if they have another hugely successful IP on their hands. Either way, I think they'll have more than enough to pay their bills and feed their families. Their relationship with Microsoft is that security. Please Log In to post.
