What should Bungie do now?

I dunno. Bungie has said repeatedly that they are working on a new IP, so they'll likely persue that. They're a pretty big studio, but I'd only expect one game at a time from them.

As for Halo, Bungie does not own the rights to the franchise. Microsoft does. Microsoft also gets first publishing rights to any Bungie made game. However, if Microsoft doesn't want it, then they are free to seek other publishers. I think we'll be seeing Bungie games exclusive to Microsoft consoles for the near future.

And anyway, Microsoft is haning Halo over to 343 Industries. So if there are more Halo games made, it won't be by Bungie.

I'd like to see them do something beseides FPSes, but they are incredibly good at it, so it's a toss up. It would be a shame to lose Bungie's shooters. But hey, anything they make will likely be very, very good.

All I care about is that Bungie's next project be a game with competitive multiplayer. Whatever type of game who knows though consoles are pretty limited in that regard.

I say this because Halo is without a doubt one of the most competitive games on the consoles, especially when you get into the MLG playlist, and Bungie puts so much polish on their games that make them all a great experience.
