Personally I was expecting 9.99, flop confirmed. :PWe need another review. That 9.9 was dissapointing.

I just had to log in to reply to this. Why are you in every Uncharted thread with the redundant "oh boy.. I dont' see the appeal.." banter?? Ok if you don't see the appeal gtfo. Oh and on the contrary, more games put you in the back seat more so than what your imagining. Most of the time your controlling and playing Uncharted WHILE these amazing things are happening. What Uncharted 3 does in gameplay, most other games have you sit down and watch in a prerendered cutscene. When in the falling building in Uncharted 2, i remember actually moving drake around and shooting the NPCS and having to jump into the next building for briefly one second and continuing the game. I guess you'd rather just sit back and watch drake fight through the whole scene in a prerendered cutscene huh? Oh and from the looks of your sig, you probably like Naruto, a game which does this to the max. All those ninjutsu's are basically flash and substance with QTE's.And so it continues... *sigh*

We need an Uncharted 3 sticky bad. On topic, Uncharted 3 is going to be awesome and everyone knows it. It's not gonna get less than a 9 here. todd2rthey are praising scripted events that take bloody half the game -_- i really hope gs dont fall for it . STILL GOIN TO BE A FUN game 1-2 playthroughs after that sell it .
^I'm also with Pikminmaniac with this one, why do people regard Uncharted as the God of all PS3 franchises? I've finished both U1 and 2 and quite frankly, both played out like your run-of-the-mill third person shooter to me, even the super cinematic scenes where underwhelming because well, pretty much every damn game is super cinematic these days with super flashy graphics.koospetoorsUncharted 2 at the time was amazing. Calling it just a "run of the mil shooter" is just not justice. I'm curious as to what games you think are the god of all franchises? I bet it's something quirky.

They praise some games for something and then criticize other games for doing the same thing.

You logged in to rant on his opinion? What's up with fans not understanding that no game in existence will ever have universal appeal, goes for books and movies aswell, regardless of how well recieved they are. This is basic knowledge that ya'll need to recite before responding to a guy that doesn't like your favorite game.

It just bothers me is all... It makes our 'professional' reviewing community look like a bunch of immature children flocking to praise shiny things. All you need now a days is a big budget so that you can make a bunch of explosions and destruction happen around the player in a 9 hour campaign instead of trying to advance the gameplay. Let's make stuff happen around you and leave you to do the same thing you did last time. I just don't get why something as superficial as set pieces makes Uncharted on of the highest regarded series this gen.
I don't mind people enjoying a romp through a nice little action game like Uncharted, but it shouldn't be considered the industry's ctizen cane or Godfather.
I honestly dont see the appeal in the uncharted series. Uncharted 1 is the most boring thing I ever played, and the Uncharted 2 demo while terrible was at least an improvement. I played the Beta of UC3 and it left me with a terrible taste. I guess this series is just not for me.
Still, I am glad the gaming journalists had a blast.

[Sarcasm]I agree, Uncharted 2 and 3 is all explosions. The gameplay is horrible compared to Gears of War 3. I mean at least in Gears 3 you shoot people. Uncharted is basically jump, climb and BOOM explosion. No thinking whatsoever.... (except the hard puzzle in Uc1 with the statues in the library.) Also I HATED the stealth parts of Uc2, it wasn't enough action.[/Sarcasm]
Who said he was arguing his opinion? He's just wondering why enter a thread about a game you find overrated just to bash it? It should and it did. The political media already treats the video game industry as a violent, sexist, and brash form of etertainment. Uncharted did not enhance or move the notion, it just showed that games can still have great presentation and not at the same time slice people in half or making someone's head "dissapear". Individuals who never touched a video game before appreciates Uncharted. People who had trouble on 3-2 SMB or the Water Temple on OoT, or even trying to kill the ******* annoying general in StarCraft appreciates Uncharted. Any gamer who looks at Uncharted and think it's not smart enough to be deemed worthy to be a game is flatout arrogant and stupid. You don't have to like it, find it the best game ever, or heck, even care about it at all. But to say praising Uncharted makes us seem like fools is a ignorant statement. Uncharted is a game, just like Dark Souls, Batman:AC, or Zelda:SS. At the end of the day , it's not perfect, but at the same time, no game is.
so what if he did log into rant his opinion he can do that u knowLucianu

It's natural to get mad wen someone bashes your favorite game, i sometimes slip aswell, but it's also natural to try to grow out of that bad habbit, let me stress out that having a disagreement is a different thing than a rant. Ranting just shows a lack of confidence in your own value.
Example: Deus Ex is one of my absolute favorite games ever, but i know there's a ton of people that disagree and downright hate it. Why would i rant on them without any constructivity to actually start a disscusion? I waste effort. It remains my GOAT game, because it's my experience that matters for me, a guy disagreeing on my favorite game won't change my experience, or my thoughts with the game. I could tell him why people would love the game, sure, or start a disscusion.
If you'd actually played Uncharted 2 you'd know that this isn't the case. You participate in everything and there is almost no qte. Compared to other cinematic games you're incredibly active. This game if any you're truly the driver. And so it continues... *sigh*

Sure it's flashy but you "drive" more than any game. Except the talking bits of course. In any other game this would've most likely been a cutscene. The player sucks though, and it's like the easiest setting, just sayin
Also I much rather play this and experience amazing set pieces in amazing environments than solving shallow crap puzzles in Zelda (puzzles clearly meant for young children). Just sayin.
Same, I'm sure I'll be buying this game on day one. Also, congrats on having nearly a thousand posts!Great news, can't wait to get my hands on this game!

Don't say that.. You "drive" more in inFAMOUS, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Batman Arkham Asylum, Dark Souls, Devil May Cry, Halo, GTA, and pretty much every single game made before this gen...
I have played the game and the only time I enjoyed myself was during the car chace sequence and the first puzzle involving your journal... The game felt like it completely controled my pacing and parts like the museum and the ice cave with tenzen were just to serve story and provided some of the most pointless gaming experences out there. Then when it gets past the halfway point it becomes overly repetative with large shoot out sequences.
And don't get me started with the so called platforming in the game
UC3 is one of those rare games I will purchase no matter what, and the last time I felt that for a game was MGS4.
Oh I'm so stoked! Everything is gonna be amazing. The SP, the versus, and I'm also really looking foward to the co op. But that's after single player.

So the issue isn't that you simply aren't that big a fan of the game. The issue is because you don't like the game, anyone who does like it or praises it is unprofessional and immature. I guess the overwhelming majority of the gaming community is clueless simply because they don't agree with you. Please Log In to post.
