what the best online FPS this Gen (2005-now)

So lets have us a fun little discussion on whats the best FPS online this gen. Now time for some rules.

#2 Gameplay>graphics in this discussion, no picking a game if its online is terrible just becuase its graphics look perdy

#5 Nosystem bashing, we're comparing Software, not Hardware.

My pick is TF2(PC) , i have yet had so much fun playing a game online since Diablo, and even when you constantly died i was having fun (its been a while so i'm rusty:lol:). Plus theres been non-stop updates that have made the game better everytime.

TF2 on the pc for the shear amount of fun it provides me with.

Wow, TF2 is winning by a long shot. These results are different than i expected. I'll keep wathcing this thread, eager to see what happens next.

Resistance 2, it was fun while it lasted.

Halo 3, it has all the crazy moments.For instance, when you stick a warthog, then it blows up and goes flying into your team mates and kills them too. No matter how many other shooters I play, I always come back to this one.

Halo 3. I would go into depth, but seriously everybody knows this game. It's just solid and never gets old. Unique, futuristic human and alien(covenent) weapons are a fresh alternative to the standard WWII and MW type weapons. Vehicles, swords+melee fighting, forge maps and custom game types, etc, ect.

Theater Mode recording all your matches is a huge plus also.

Call of Duty 4 - I played this the most of any multiplayer game. I'm not big on multiplayer, but I put well over 100 hours into this game. It's unfortunate that Modern Warefare 2 is just more of the same...

KZ2, with COD4 coming in a close second ...

Also the game is still being updated and patched to this day. With LOADS of dedicated servers up 24/7.

Sicne I'm a console gamer...Killzone 2. The maps are AWESOME. The guns feel great. You can't simply point your gun and hold the trigger. You HAVE to shoot in bursts. The player types are fun.

Least favorite-COD MW2. this game just fails on all counts. Map design, weapon balancing, lag(100ms+ ping time is 3/4 bars????), crazy aim assist. just EVERYTHING sucks. And then to boot, they put in killstreaks to make sure EVERYONE is just camping the whole time. I could understand how a 3-5 killstreak would be fun. but anything higher just made the game devolve into crap. MW2 is the WORST online I've ever played, not just this gen.

Half Life was 2 generations ago, and not really an online FPS...

I would love to say farcry 2's online. But punkbuster has decided that my comp is a hacking tool, so i update it, but it still thinks i'm cheating. i loved this one map were it was a shanty town and my flamethrower was sop effective, got around 20 kills in the match.......................*sigh* if only punkbuster didn't hate me.

ummmmm..... for online or single player?

My opinion on the single player is Resistance, the game is just mounds of fun!!!!!

For multiplayer?? I'm stuck between a few.

Modern warfare 2 is really fun in multiplayer, Halo 3 is very fun and addicting. But I've had the most fun with Battlefield 1943

im in agreeance with this :P and there is no shortage of games to be found.

so my vote goes for CoD4.

TF 2 easily

TF2 easily, great weapons, great classes, beautiful graphics, lots of personality, easy to play but hard to master.

What more can you want?

The two best, most feature-packed, most addictive online games ever made.

Call of Duty 2 for the 360. I loved that game so much. I like the WW2 setting much more than the MW theme CoD has going now. The Kar98k is still my favorite gun in a FPS to date.

Team Fortress 2 is in second for me.
