What the Hell is going on with MLB 14: The Show?

The install seemed pretty quick for me. The load screens are long sometimes. Especially the one when you first boot up the game.

I don't know how Sony perceives it, but from what I've been reading in the past few months, a lot of Sony fans have been very vocal about how important 1080p (native) is to them, so I think that when development starts on a PS4 game, the #1 priority must be to achieve that coveted resolution, and everything else is secondary. I suspect some developers would be too afraid to go lower than 1080P native as it could mean guaranteed sales loss.

its more the reverse. sony was the one touting 1080p and pushing devs to hit native 1080P MS put in an upscaler and told devs they have the freedom to do what they feel makes their game the best. The cows are suing resolution as a check mark for buying a PS4 and touting it all over. Its more important to sony, especially now after all the fanboys propaganda then it is to the gamers themselves

It looks last gen, sacrifice to make it 1080p, why pay $400 for this garbage. The usual.

@FoxbatAlpha: It's ok man, cows won't admit they got duped by Sony. They could be playing all the multiplats, and MLB the show on the PS3 online for free instead they wanted that slight graphics bump and impaired frame rate to get 1080p on the PS4 and pay to play the same games online.

The game is incredible. The best looking stadiums, crowds and players in any sports game, period.

LOL Xbox One still can't run an ugly game like COD or Titan Fall at 1080p!!! To call the Xbox One a next gen console that cant run COD at 1080p is screwing! i watched a stream of someone playing online last night....game is pretty bad..glitchy movements...disaapearing baseballs.

id be surprised if this game gets more than a 7.

Got the game yesterday, great title.

Why would a lem care about a baseball game? What's the alternative to The Show series that's dominated baseball games for a couple gens now?

@FoxbatAlpha: Really weird. The crowd actually looks better on the PS3 version. The PS3 even had a nicer helmet shine. The only thing that looks better is the facial hair really. Game may have been rushed. It definitely doesn't look leagues better on the PS4 like it should.

I am really hoping that EA steps up their game with Madden this year. Sports games are really benefiting from this gen. MLB 14 The Show and NBA 2k14 both really shine on the next gen consoles. I presume NHL 14 and the next Madden should too. Though I don't have confidence in the next Madden. EA handles FIFA alright but since there is 0 competition for NFL games they really just don't care.

Picked this up today after work, been playing a few hours and I'm not too impressed. Dunno if it's my TV but jaggies galore especially with the facial hair and hair in general.. They took the PS3 version, upped the texture res added fucked hair and called it a day.. The gameplay is fun and challenging but I was expecting a lot more especially with 2K's NBA looking as good as it did. (I play that on X1 but personally think it looks a little better on PS4).

The graphics aren;t game breaking by any means but it didn't live up to the hype at all.

Franchise mode on quick play and scenario counts is how I roll... Love me some face paced baseball gaming... Broadcast mode is like the thing you do once to see the graphics and presentation and then switch it off.

Great game... So far, but the ps4 online is utterly broken. @Heil68: and I couldn't even get into the game last night. Gonna try again today. Actually right now if anyone wants to game.

Some areas show improvement, but this is the first iteration on a new console so do not expect a huge difference out of the ballpen.

Haven't enabled scenario counts yet, but otherwise same here. Having a blast with the game, but both friends I have buying wont have it til weekend, so I haven't played online yet. Only grabbed some rosters. Hopefully they iron out online ASAP.

I'm surprised OP and lems haven't heard of cross-gen games. Why else does Forza 5, Titanfall, Lococycle, Crimson Dragon, Dead Rising 3 etc all look last gen?
