What video game reviews do you use when deciding the quality of a game?

When deciding the quality of a game, what review(s) do you use?

Note that I said in System Wars that you can talk about other reviews conversationally, but in terms of addressing amount of AAAA,AAA,AA,A games, flops etc Gamespot reviews are all that counts, in this particular forum.

I want a "I don't care about reviews" option.

I didn't state that people can't use multiple sources to decide the quality of a game :?

So feel free to do what you want.

When deciding the quality of a game, I trust my own judgement. If the game looks interesting IMO, I get it... if not, no matter if the whole world says is excellent, I just skip it.

I do it based on personal recommendations from people who seem to like the same kind of games I do.

Dude, just face it, he is right. Sure there are other reviews out there in the world, but it is on system wars were the gamespot review is the only thing that matters. Remember when Halo wars came out? every other site gave it 8-9/10, but when GS gave it a 6.5 (which i agree with btw) the cows acted like it was the only true reviewer in the world that had made that review. Just like Lair, some reviewers claimed it was playable while Gamespot seemed to disagree. Still 99% of the population here on system wars realize that Lair was probably the biggest failure this generation.

I go with IGN and GS to decide if I want to play the game or not, not so much how good it is.

I like the sub-scores at the end of IGN reviews, and the pros and cons on GS.

GS scores are the only ones that "matter" as far as the little flops/AAA game that people here play. Beyond that, they are no more important than any other scores. I'm at GS and I sure as hell don't determine quality from GS scores alone.

GS scores are the only ones that "matter" as far as the little flops/AAA game that people here play. Beyond that, they are no more important than any other scores. I'm at GS and I sure as hell don't determine quality from GS scores alone.

Exactly, in fact, I personally rarely use reviews. I'll read and look, but I decide myself based on gameplay videos and previews etc.

We go by gamespots reviews here at system wars, but outside of SW I usually use several sources to come to an average opinion of the game.

I rely on past experience in gaming, gamespot and gametrailers.

Gametrailers,Gamespot and sometimes certain magazines for help.

What happens Game Spot doesn't review a game, does it not exist?

I only use 2 sites, IGN and Gamespot's and the game's demo to decide whether to buy a game or not. But if it's for discussion on System Wars, I only use Gamespot scores as a basis for what's good or not. It is a Gamespot board after all. I dont even try to use IGN, Gameranking or Metacritic scores as bases for arguments.

metacritic cuz it has all game review site scores listed and the average from all of them
