What was the first video game you ever played?

Mine was a skate boarding NES game. Skate or Die 2.

Street Fighter II Turbo (SNES). Around the same time, I played Super Mario World (also on the SNES).

Got this game with my bros when I was 2.

I really cannot remember as I started playing video games more than 40 years ago at the time when the Atari 2600 was formerly called the Atari VCS and shortly before the video game crash of 1983.

IDK, but I always assume it was either Math Rabbit or Auto Racing.

Super Mario World or Super Mario All Stars on SNES

The first that i remember is Elite on the BBC Micro. I had no idea what i was doing. The game made no sense. But (as a fan of start trek TNG) having a galaxy to explore on the ol beeb blew my tiny little mind.

vaguely remember pong on a mate's spectrum zx with its nice rubbery keys, but i also got my first computer - an amstrad cpc 464 - around that time that came with a "roland" game series bundled - roland on the ropes, roland in the caves etc. so i'll go with one of those as a best guess

@nod_calypse: Pong. And that is a true statement - my dad brought home a home pong machine when I was a wee lad and I tried it out. His boss got one for the breakroom and let my dad take it home first. I remember when we got an Atari VCS that came with Pong, my sisters and I were so shocked to see that we could play more than one game on an Atari.

Hard to say: could be Tomagochi (digital pet, which you had to take care of), that Tetris device with ten stick figure like games, which was probably Chinese knock-off, Playstation demo disc, first Need For Speed at a friends house or some barbarian and elf game on SEGA at a friend's house.

I ....think it was some spider man game on an Macintosh computer, but I don't remember.

@madsnakehhh: Haha, I'm pretty sure Moon Patrol was my first game too. Played on our Atari 7800.

Pretty sure it was Pokemon Red. I could be wrong. It's either Pokemon Red, Sonic the Hedgehog, or Super Mario World. I can't remember which one though.

The first concept of a video game I ever played was I believe a Game & Watch.

In terms of a console: my first game ever was Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Genesis.

Apple stand game for the Apple II but I believe it is actually Lemonade Stand.

I am not even sure to be honest. I was so young, I remember we had an NES and Atari 5200 in our living room. If I had to guess probably Star Wars for the 5200.

First game I played was probably Alex Kidd, but that was more a distraction/novelty, the first time I really "got" a game was Pokemon red/blue.

Pong, when they put one in my dad's bowling alley. The rest is history. :P

Think the two oldest games I remember is alley cat and kaptain Kaspers on my dads work pc! Both games blew my mind and hooked me on this hobby:)

I cannot remember the name or really what it looks like and it anoys me.

It was a cartridge on an Atari console. I think the game was like frogger but not frogger (although that was one of the first games I played).

Pong at my grandmother’s house. My dad was like “ you so have to try this.” I remember I was not too impressed and wasn’t addicted.

Sonic 1 on Genesis was very early for me. If there was something earlier then I don't remember.

It seems that there are users on this forum who started gaming prior to the video game crash of 1983 as I did.

It's getting harder to remember. It was either Combat or Asteroids on an old Atari 2600 my uncle had.

If you want to play some old games oldgamesdownload is a good place to check. Not sure about the logistics.

@Pedro: I prefer Vimm. But that place is cool too.

I don't know, something on the Gameboy or ZX Spectrum. I can't remember anything better than that.
