I really enjoyed the last generation, pretty much all the games you featured on Xbox and GC are games I played the hell out of. I loved KotOR, Halo 1&2, and Ninja Gaiden Black and I still play SSBM to this day. I also had alot of fun with GBA and DS, you know Minish Cap, Metroid Fusion and Zero Mission on GBA then Mario Kart DS, Meteos, and Animal Crossing on the DS.

As for the current generation I've enjoyed it so far but it will really start for me when Brawl releases. :P

No question, 16 bit. My Super Nintendo has some serious experience, not to mention it's home to many of the greatest games ever.

Its very close between the 8 bit and 16 bit gens, for me. I think, when it comes down to it, i would place the 16bit gen slightly over the 8 bit. The 8 bit had some incredible games, and saw the introduction of some of the greatest series ever.. but the 16bit gen took all of this and perfected on it while adding all sorts of new masterpieces.

I like the current gen the most not because of the games. But now easy it is to download games that you played in the past. All new systems have downloadable games which game it easier for anyone who wants to play games he or she may have missed in the past.

you should make a post for handheld gens. and seriously how can you not love the 64bit gen? you have games like spyro, mario, zelda, everything! and at the same time you have games like pokemon and zelda on the handheld front.

I'd say overall 8-bit. It's what got me into gaming, and there were so many games that I played during that generation. And if you count the Wii's VC, then that adds even more goodness to it.

Close second would be the 16-bit generation. I only owned an SNES, but that was enough to make it great.

Then I'd say this current generation, because even though it just started, I have a lot of games that I like, and there are a lot more coming out and some games which are already out that I haven't gotten yet. This generation will probably become my favorite, especially since I plan to skip next generation (unless if it's really irresistible) because of how many Wii60 games that I want to get.

Finally last generation. It was great. I had the PS2 and Gamecube, but the Gamecube didn't get enough attention from me, which has changed since the Wii was released, and I plan to get more GC games in the future. The PS2 was great, and changed/expanded the way that I viewed gaming.

I can't really include the N64/PS1 generation because I've only played a couple of thes games from the Wii's VC...

Well for me, I'm only 18 years old so I admit to not being a "hardcore gamer" when these games came out. That said I'm playing them for the first time now and I gotta say the 32/64 bit gen. All those amazing RPG's along side with those awesome fighting games and 3D Platformers. :)

I'd say the 32/64 gen.

And that Sonic pic you posted is of Sonic 3, not Sonic 2.

the 32/64-bit era for me. Granted, most of the games haven't aged that well but it was such a huge jump in both graphics AND gameplay. We had the huge leap from 2D sprite-based games to 3D polygon-based games. It was the most amazing thing :)

I'd say ~1998 - ~2002 were the best parts of my gaming life. So I'm going with 32/64 Bit.
Not necesarily because of the games, because I played all sorts of games from different periods back then.

We used to hurry home after school just about every day to get some serious LAN or single PC multiplayering going. :P
Good times. :P

Definately the 32/64 bit generation.

The enjoyment from the Nintendo 64 cannot be matched, maybe it was because I was young, and less cynical, but Banjo, OoT, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, Pilot wings, the classics are endless.

The 32-bit generation is my favourite. it bought new ways of gaming and Arcade perfect ports, and on some consoles at least, traditional gaming was carried on and improved.

the 16-bit was the one that I enjoyed the most tough, so much variety and new stuff. Tons and tons of stuff, videogaming mags the size of yellow pages and all kinds of devs making games for pretty much everything.

I would have to say last Gen. It was the first genration I began to play online games, and etc. I remeber watching Xplay for the reviews and etc.. it was a magical time. I also liked the 32-64 bit generation. I remeber playing Crash Bandicoot for hours with friends when I was like 8-10 :) I briefly remeber playing some mario game on the SNES in that generation.. it was ok..

Last generation was when I really started getting into games. I owned all 3 consoles at some piont, and I most of my favourite games are from last gen. You had your GTA Series, Halo, KOTOR, Super Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing, Wind Waker, etc etc. But I have a feeling that this gen will overtake it at some point of course...
