I don't HATE the Wii but I just don't really care for it at the moment. I'm already playing the waiting game with one console not to sure I wanna do it with two lol. But after lots of time I'd have to eat a **** sandwich and admit the Wii is pretty decent.Magnavox Odyssey. Though I did start playing that somewhere between the NES/SNES days. That's right, I was playing a pretty old home console even though there were other, better consoles out. This is why I don't complain about the Wii's graphics. I was so far behind that just having a current console is great.
EDIT: Forgot to mention the game. It was probably Bowling or something.

I think the first console and game I played was Ninja Gaiden II for the NES.
The first console I owned was N64 with Super Mario 64 :D
A lot of youngins here starting on the N64/PS1. I kinda feel bad for you guys.
I had an Atari 2600 and some racing game.

You my friend are in the same boat as me. I had pong, some game where you had ships and submarines in the water and you had to shoot them and some other game indicative of early 80's technology.

That was mine as well. For me, it was back in 1974. It was already a 2 year old console.
It's just funny how "graphics" back then were huge pixels and mylar sheets we had to stick onto the TV screen.

I'm just old enough to say I started in the SNES era. I remember the thrill of games like Starfox on the SNES! I almost had a heart attack! I was already a decent gamer by the time N64 came out. (plus I killed off time by also playing tempest, missle command, and tank command-think that was the name not sure)[QUOTE="Plug_One"]A lot of youngins here starting on the N64/PS1. I dont think it was battleship bro. It was setup sorta like Galga. You had a pea shooter like thing at the bottom of the screen and you could move it left and right. airplanes, ships, boats and submarines would go across the screen left and right and you had to shoot them. Now that I think of it, that was over 22 years ago....

You probably right. I was thinking about him saying 80's I thought he meant the NES
Console wise, it was Jumping Flash on the PS1.
However, overall it was Wolfenstein 3D on the PC (about three years earlier).

You played your first game TWO years BEFORE I was even a fetus!! *bowing bowing bowing* :lol:Wowsers! talk about waiting for innovation!:lol:I find it interesting that I started on a console (it was the second Odyssey, made a mistake) that was at least twelve years old (released 1978 ) and didn't get it till the SNES days which was the 90s.
Stupid smilies.

First console - N64 along with Ocarina of Time
First System - BGColor with Pokemon Pinball
EDIT: More info
First Game Owned - Pokemon Pinball
First Game Played - Mortal Kombat (one or two) on SNES
[QUOTE="l-_-l"]I can't remember the name because I was so little, but the game was pong. Yes, I know I just showed my age ;)shungokustasu
Well, Pong was the game and the system.
Edit: Unless you talking about the Atari version
no. This system had something to do with putting a static sheet of plastic on the tv screen that had a line in the center (the tennis net) and you had a paddle that had a roller on it much like the mouse with the rolling ball on the top. And you would move the stick on your side of the screen up and down to hit the square (pong) back to the other person. I was like 5 maybe (not sure when the system came out, but I was around 5 when I played it). I am 32 now. Oh and no, it wasn't a Atari.[QUOTE="Magical_Zebra"][QUOTE="shungokustasu"][QUOTE="Magical_Zebra"][QUOTE="Plug_One"]A lot of youngins here starting on the N64/PS1. I kinda feel bad for you guys.

OK, now I know this is the system I started with.[QUOTE="t2wave"]Wowsers! talk about waiting for innovation! It was more that we didn't really care. We were fine with what we had. Then when the N64 came around a friend gave us the SNES (he had gotten a N64) and I got the Genesis from a cousin. While others were enjoying full 3D games we were playing through the golden age, a whole geraration late. Sure we knew what else was there by then, but we still had fun with what we had. I really irritates me when people here are complain that one thing didn't progress "enough" or whatever when sometimes they've never really had to wait until the generation ends before they actually get it. I play my systems into the ground.I find it interesting that I started on a console (it was the second Odyssey, made a mistake) that was at least twelve years old (released 1978 ) and didn't get it till the SNES days which was the 90s.

But I'm getting off topic now arn't I? Pay no mind I just needed to rant.
Gamecube/ Super Mario Sunshine was bundled with it.kruesader
Probably the only person to admit that. You must have started late.
What is the FIRST console you ever played and owned? Why was it your first and what games really stood out?
NextGenNow
My first console was the N64, good times. My first game was some random snowboarding game, I think it was called Snowboarder Kids or something like that. My first game that I bought was LoZ:OoT, and from then on, video games were my primary source of entertainment.
Xbox and Halo, the best game ever no one can beat it NO ONE!
lol jk, my first true system was the NES, I cant remember what exactly my first game was but a few of my favorites that I played all the time was the original mario of course along with the Ninja turtles and duck hunt. I also rented paperboy a few times. :P
Im sure there was a whole lot more of the games I played but my memory sucks horribly so cant remember much other than I had a crappy black and white tv to play on for my first few years.
First system and game was Colecovision and The Smurfs.
Soon thereafter came the NES and Mario/Duck Hunt/ Track and Field....i love track and field because on the long jump I would just jump off and get max score....ahhh memories

I just found some sites on the Smurfs game.....MEMORIES
