Oh yeah, I do remember being very hyped for Golden Sun: Dark Dawn because both of the first two GS titles have always been some of my favorite JRPGs ever.

Then I played Dark Dawn and it was...okay I guess. Definitely wasn't as good as the previous two games and was disappointing.

I was crazy hyped for GTA IV and it didn't live up to my expectations in some ways, but exceeded my expectations in other ways. I was taken aback my how slow it started (good lord the game starts slooooow) and the lack of mission variety in comparison to San Andreas, but I was blown away by the graphics and the atmosphere and I thought the story was very impressive. Also, once the game got past that beginning part where it seems like the basic ass tutorial missions will never end, I actually thought the missions were very extremely well done for the most part. Missions like The Snow Storm, Three Leaf Clover, To Live and Die in Alderney (and quite a bit more) are series highlights IMO.
