Nintendo has really thrown everybody for a loop by releasing a console and a handheld which, visually, are an entire generation behind their competitors, however, both have been wildly successful.

So how will they surpass the DS? will they keep the same/similar form, with 2 screens, touch, and regular buttons, but with higher res screens and more ram?

or will they do something totally new?

or will they just call it quits and keep making DS games?

personally, i'd like to see the DS2 have slightly bigger screens, more ram, and small (GC c-stick style) analog nubs. however, the way nintendo is going, i doubt the visuals will improve at all....but the thing is, the reason people buy nintendo systems is for nintendo games, and nintendo is the best at optimizing their hardware.

i really think they should keep the basics of the DS, which are somewhat popular and expand on them with better visuals, sharper control, and more ram for the next metroid or zelda

Yeah, but you know Sony is going to copy Nintendo and make their next handheld with a touch screen, so Nintendo needs to do something new or Sony will kill them because their brandname is bigger.

i think DS is here to stay for maybe as long as the original gameboy, but for the next system the graphics will be simmilar to gamecube i think they will do touch again and it will probably be just like the original DS just updated

whatever it is i cant wait

They'll do something new, to keep us interested. They'll probably keep the touch screen though.

Seriously the only complaint I have for the DS is the graphics that are ages ahead compared to the PSP. Although the screens for the phat DS very also very lame, thanks god the lite is perfect when it comes to screen quality both screen especially the 2nd. So keeping the same basic, with updated graphics would be excellent for me.

i'm willing to bet there will be some kind of motion control, and like a eye toy camera type thing built in.

on the console stage the playstation name is bigger (becoming less so since it will never catch the wii), but on the hand held market, no ne has ever come close to nintendo

i hope the new nintendo handheld is good

i liked the DS at first but then got bored so returned it and got a 360, but a new handheld should help nintendo a lot, as long as its not to expensive

i had a DS, got bored, traded it on a psp, realized that all the games were better on my ps2, and traded it on a DS again, with Zelda PH
