Not just win but Obliterate in sales.

Waggle controls for everyone? :(

If that happens I ought to just pack my Bags and head for PC land.

I'm guessing that Sony'll have a better motion controller next gen, and Microsoft will probably just keep on doing what works for them.

I imagine that next gen there will be motion sensing, but there will be more of an option not to use it. You have to remember that waggle is the only thing that the wii has over the other consoles, so every game pretty much has to use it or else risking being truly last gen. If the graphics are more equal next gen, then no console will follow it religiously as the wii does and always will.

...and you're fooling yourself if you think pc gaming is immune to what the wii offers. PC gaming prides itself in being better than console gaming in every way, and as of right now the wii has something on it

nah, i think the gimmickness will wear off. there's only so much you can do with motion controls. there's a lot more you can do with conventional controls.

Yea PC is better right. Except price, ease of use, no split-screen, installing, problems with drivers and updatesetc., always need to upgrade, not everyone online has mics.

nothing, it just proves that a cheaper priced system will out sell higher priced system specaily if it has a welll known name like nintendo on it.

i own a wii and i havent had it hooked up since re4 came out. and im really thinking of skipping ninteno systems in the future. because the wii seems like a get rich quik idea from nintendo.

i will not rush out and buy one next time thats for sure..

Everyone has a mic, they just dont always want to use it. Frankly weather its on a console or PC I dont use my mic much anymore unless I already know you. Its just not worth the grief to talk to to most gamers. They come off as spoiled little brats, I get less of that on my PC.

Wii has 0 on PC's. Thats an basurd statement.

the price argument is getting really old. It is bs. The wii is selling because of motion sensing. That is why people are talking about the system. The price is a plus, but it isn't the main selling point of the system.

I expect Sony and MSFT to take the Wii route. Both will take modified 360's and PS3's and add on motion controls to attract the casuals and keep price low. Nintendo will comw up with someother gimmick then that will be used 2 gens from now.

Sony would probably try to make a Wii with next gen graphics, M$ would stick to trying to get japan and make the system with the best hardware again

I don't think the Wiimote is ultimately what will be adopted by the other manufacturers should the Wii win. I do think that lower priced hardware and simpler set-ups will be adopted. With the 360 and the PS3 console gaming is getting further away from being a simple plug-and-play device, and that was what made consoles so attractive in the first place. They were easier to use than a PC. Now consoles are basically turning into PCs.

Imagine if the PS3 wins. The waggleness of Lair would overpower the Wii waggle.

It would mean that game developers would realize the potential of an untapped market, and the truth they've avoided for so long - that even the core gamers are tiring of playing the same games, with little to no improvement, over and over again. A larger environment, new cars, more violence, or the 4367th FPS to copy another one isn't the driving force in the market, and they need to get off their butts and come up with something imaginative and different. Ultimately, if the Wii has any influence at all, it's dominance of the market would be a positive thing.

If you think the Wii is bad for the industry, than just stop playing video games now. I understand your fear of casual gaming becoming a norm, but what you fail to realize is that the "new market" that the Wii and DS cater to, won't want to play those games forever, eventually they, now knowing what a video game is capable of, will want to become more involved in a more epic type of game, aka, what most here consider a hardcore title. By next generation i guarantee you Nintendo will be at the forefront of a more traditional (by 360 or PS3 standards) input device utilizing the same motionsensing technology found in the Wii AND up to current gen technology standards, and they will STILL be roughly 200 dollars cheaper than theircompetitor. Quit thinking that just because theres a new, more profitable market out there that Hardcore gaming is done.

If there are more consoles like the Wii...I might just try to stick with PC gaming. Sure, the Wii controller is nice and innovative...but I still like my good ol' controllers. :)
