every nintendo fanboy will kill themselves for seeing the horror of a game that got anything less than a 9
im not a basher or hater but come on, nintendo has to stop making the same rehases every year i swear if i see another SSB or Zelda game im gonna tape 360 to my chest and shout "Halo3 rules" in nintendos hq
As of now, I have no idea of the exact score Gamespot will give it, but judging by their previews, they weren't impressed with some of the control schemes of the game, which means they'll probably give it lower than a 9.
IGN has also hinted at their score in a podcast, saying that it won't score as high as Metriod Prime 3 (which they gave a 9.5).
Reviews still carry weight here on GS after Kane & Lynch? Not in my world.

agreed ever since the jeff thing i dont even bother with the reviews here
famitsu gave it top marks which is a rare sight so i have high hopes from there judgement that it will get 9.0 or higher here (unless no money has changed hands)
I'd imagine it'd go something like this, only maybe a bit worseTyrantDragon55:P I remember that one.
There is no way it's scoring higher than 8.5. It's exactly the same as the first two games. Then again, GS has rated all GTA and Halo games insanely high depsite being exactly the same, so anything is possible I guess.UssjTrunks
LOL at both your quote and your sig
"exactly the same".... yeah ok
If it gets a 7.5, then it gets the score it deserves for being a wanna be fighter in party game clothing.grimhope
So just because it doesn't quite fit within the definition of an incredibly unimaginative genre it should get a bad score. Once you've seen one fighter, you've seen them all, even 2-D and 3-D aren't that different.

You've done it now :P People are going to start posting how much skill fighting games take.... (aka memorization)

Interesting.... if Nintendo stopped making Smash Bros and Zelda games I would be one unhappy camper. Also please note this is only the 3rd Smash game. The last one came out 6 years ago, nice try though.

Well, I play SC: II as Ivy, so I know that huge moves are useless unless you can disrupt the opponent with quick moves first. And you do need to have incredibly fast reflexes to use things like impact guards.
However, it annoys me when people call Brawl a button masher, and then talk about a game where, unlike SSB, buttom-mashing is actually a viable strategy as you're always forced into close quarters. Brawl is all about positioning and movement, whereas traditional fighters are more concerned with attack and defense.
And I stand by what I said. I don't deny that they need skill, but you see one fighter, you've seen them all.
That was also the last good Lost episode. :(Remember on lost when Locke stopped pressing the button in the hatch?
Thats what would happen.
