I still think EA and Apple will join together. eAIgame a console with AI that chooses what games you will play.

no one said it was going to happen.
but just FYI, no matter how much money a company makes, they will close a sector if they don't think it will make money for them.

I don't think EA would join any one, but i'm sure they could make a console if they wanted to.I'd be sad bcuz personnally I'd want nintendo to drop out so they can make games on PS3 and 360 (I really wanna play MP3 and SSBB) MS needs to stay in the gaming industry or else we'll miss out games like Halo, oh btw what will be the face of xboxs after Halo 3??DarkNeji14nintendo has stated that even if they couldn't make another console, they would not go 3rd party. If you want their games, you need to buy their console
[QUOTE="joeblak"]Another company would step in.SoUtHhOlLiZ
what are some possible candidates?
Apple, Samsung, Dell
If Apple makes a console, it'd have to be more gimmicky than the Wii. That's quite a feat.
And if MS does drop out or end their 360 early, their reputation would be tarnished within the dev community and everyone would be neglecting the Games for Windows campaign.
How can you be so sure? The amazing success of the PS1/2 to the sudden drop of interest with the PS3 and SEGA back in the 80s making popular consoles to now being a 3rd party dev shows anything is possible in the gaming industry.keep dreaming, not gonna happen

edit:spelling and spaces
I doubt another company would come in with another console. The video game industry can't support more than two consoles. MS has been losing money since they introduced a console, and Sega got squeezed out. The PS3 has been losing heaps of money as well.
When it comes to video games, the console never was important as the software. If a comparasion with movies were made, then what we have is movie theaters that can only play movie format A, B, or C. That's not the case though, all movie theaters, regardless of the company running them, can play any movie produced. All movies are multiplatform.
The same condition exists with operating systems for PCs as well. You only have one dominate one, and several other niche OSs. These markets just do not support multiple competitors because other industries rely on said market for access to a wider demographic and audience.
The only way a new console would survive is by pushing Nintendo or Sony out of the game. Otherwise it'll just linger on the fringes, probably not making any money and get wiped out in the end.
More games for Sony and Nintendogamefan67And system wars would be more friendly. Personally i dont think cows/sheep or lemmings/sheep shoudl argue or anythign because they are 2 way different things. So if microsoft got tossed i think gamming would be a better place.
