What would it take for you to leave Gamespot forever?

Yea I know right? That bet thread is for fun and people are laying down account passwords and threatening to leave is X doesnt get AAA :?... And what do you get if you win the bet? Nothing. You can only lose. Leave forever bets are very serious and really aren't as fun as, saya bet where you take a funny picture if you lose. At least if you lose we all get a good laugh out of it :P. When someone leaves forever off a bet, especially if the user is well known, that is just sad.

and it's also sad that the thread grows to 2000 posts full of those pointless bets. but at least we'll be getting rid of some annoying fanboys :P

I can't speak for everyone else, but the reason I made one is because SMG is my breaking point. If SMG isn't AAA material, then I'm going to stop bothering with review sites all together.

Well in that situation no one could really make fun of eachother because a huge game from each faction flopped. People would regaurdlessly never let lemmings forget that Halo 3 flopped just because Halo is so huge.

Seriously, only a massive uber-flop, like Halo 3 or SMG scoring below 6.0.

Yeah, that's why I picked the biggest game from each system.......I just know that these games will be hyped AAA here and will most likely get AAA from everywhere on the internet. And if GS decided to flop em all....well then I'd know that it would have gotten out of control.

This site was once a place where gamers could voice their opinion. They could really let themselves dive into a forum like no other. In it's hay day, GameSpot was the best forums there were. Now they moderate it to a point where you feel you cant really discuss games. When Halo 1 was just getting big, this site rocked. It was good fun. I lost that account because the e-mail expired and I was off for a while returned and it wouldnt work. Had this one for a while now. There wasnt even this many forums back then. So more people was in this forum. If this site fails to see that in the end we are just gamers gathering to talk about games then it is pointless to be here. At the least they could give the adults an area of their own to discuss games the way we want. I would do what I had to, to be part of that forum. Gamespot is losing ground. They need to turn to the fans right now. They need to ask us, all of us right now, what we want from a gaming site. Cause they are losing fans. One day that site we all look for will be discovered. And GS will ask why the ghost town? The answer, You lost focus. We like this site. I choose these forums over any other. But I need to feel that is appreciated. You wont get that here.

Well if you're a fanboy of a game and it wasn't as good as the hype said it would be, then i guess you would be mad at GS for scoring it badly. Frankly, the community would do better without those kinds of people. I personally find gamespot reviews to be flawed but accurate, especially according to their scoring system (which everyone should read and understand. great games that are derivative score badly. good looking games with bad gameplay score badly. games score worse is they're released later, because the bar is higher. next-gen games get scored harder in gameplay AND graphics. Hype (while of course influencing reviewer opinion to some extent, they're human after all) is largely ignored, which is a great thing.). Their scoring system is great.

As for me, the only thing I need to leave gamespot forever is something better to do.

Anyway, I've made two leave-forever bets in SW Bets, and I intend to keep them if I lose. As for anything else, I'm not sure. Maybe if the forums changed for the worse I would leave.

If gamespot ever assumes the mentality of the majority of the posters on it's site, then I'll leave. If the new game you were looking forward to doesn't score as high as you had wished, don't get pissed at gamespot, get pissed at the developers who let you down...

If Warhawk gets a 9Glitch321

Warhawk is the most addictively fun game I've played all year. I don't think it'll get a 9 because of no single player but it's at minimum 8 worthy. Who knows though, Warhawk is a lot of fun.

If gamespot ever assumes the mentality of the majority of the posters on it's site, then I'll leave. If the new game you were looking forward to doesn't score as high as you had wished, don't get pissed at gamespot, get pissed at the developers who let you down...

Oh yeah I made a huge leave forever bet last year lol :P... I was really a different poster then though. I won and many people who took the reverse bet didn't leave. Cowards I tell ya.

Alot of games get docked points for no multiplayer and multiplayer with no single player should get docked more points imo.

Sounds logical but personally I think taking off points for not having single/multi player is dumb. I think they should judge Warhawk the way it should be, as an online only game.

I guarantee you, give it a couple of weeks and you're going to get tons of threads all over IGN talking about MP3 being "overrated". I can't say what it actually deserves. I don't own a Wii, and don't plan on getting one anytime soon. But I do know that a score like 9.5 shouldn't be given lightly. Only games short of masterpieces deserve it. And come on, MP3 is probably a great game, but a masterpiece? I highly doubt it. 8.5 is a great score, especially with the new rating system.

It could be anything. Making silly bets is part of what makes this place what it is. Unfortunately it can claim some of the most respected forumites in here. TrueReligeon, IMO, was one of the most respected members of SW. Because of what many would call a questionable review of Metroid Prime 3 (I hate to bring it up... XD) they now have left GS forever.
