I guess I am what you guys call a Lemming since I have a XBox360. Before I got one, however, I had a PS2. Before that I had the PS1. I thought they were great systems and enjoyed playing them both. That is all besides the point though. Back to the point of this thread.

I don't have much interest in the PS3 right now. I agree that it is an amazing system with many title on the horizon, but none of them really grab my interest. Today, however, I was looking back at some of the older games I use to play and one of them jumped out at me as the best game I had ever played. It was Final Fantasy VII. I remember playing it when it first came out and being simply amazed at the story and characters. It was one of those games you use to judge very game you play after it.

I know that there was a tech demo made of the game to show off the PS3 power, but I don't think a remake was ever in plans. If there was a remake of Final Fantasy VII for the PS3, however, I would sell my XBox360 in a heartbeat and pick up a PS3. That is just me, however. What do you guys think?

It would take a 200 dollar price cut and two exclusive AAA games, and a more fleshed out library wouldn't hurt. I might pick one up in January, maybe on Boxing Day or something.

Well, I would need a large price drop, and a very solid indication that Blu Ray is the future. Actually, I don't think I would buy a PS3, unless they somehow bought Nintendo and Microsoft. :P

For me it would take....

* Price drop down to $399

*AA and AAA exclusives that I could only get on the PS3

* BluRay would have to have been crowned the clear cutmedia format winner over HD DVD

*

I already have one, just got last week.
Im not cheap when it comes to things i want so i could care less about the price...it was graduation money anyway.

i dont know why people say they're gonna wait for games,  you're gonna pay the same $599 you will then as you will now. (disregarding the price drop until announced)

my god, everyone will say price. It looks like I wont consider buying one for maybe a year and a half. By that time, the games and the price will be right. Sony just better hope I dont break down and buy a 360 by then?

I don't think E3 will change my mind unless Sony completely blows Microsoft out of the water. I know Sony will have a great showing, but I am pretty sure Microsoft will too. I was just saying that a remake of Final Fantasy VII would be an instant selling point for me.

Also, after VII, none of the Final Fantasy games got me that excited. I played VIII and didn't like it. IX was decent but nothing great. X was good but I just never got into it like I did VII. I never played XII so I can't say anything on that. I don't know, the Final Fantasy Series just lost its appeal to me.
