-Ditch the online necessity
-Ditch blocking used games
-Ditch online fees
-Ditch TV features and focus on features that will improve my gaming experience
-Have at least 5 exclusives that I'd be interested int (theyhaven't been able to produce one last gen)
Absolutely nothing, the xbox one was designed to be a drm machine.
Always online requirement(in fact you can't play it without internet, as the game has to be registered first in order to play it)
License check requirement every 24 hours
Games tied to account(can't lend it to a friend without giving away your info or forcing them to pay a fee)
Kinect always on, even when the system is powered off(big brother MS).
Focus on tv instead of games
Block used games
No mandatory Kinect, allow used games, allow basic online play freeCanYouDiglt
MS will alow used games, but them and the publisher will take a percentage of the sale from the used game % not yet told by MS. MS will charge for online play $60-$70 per year, and Kinect is mandatory. It has to be hooked up or the system wont work.Â
1.Wont be able to rent games for x1.
2.Will be paying a much higher amount for used games with MS & the publisher taking their percentage.
3.Will be paying to play online.
4.Used games will only work if they've been deactivated from the last users console.
5.Kinect has to be used or console wont work.
6.The console is a multi use machine that isn't focused on games.Â
honestly nothing, I'm not getting one. People wanna tout that the conference was focusing on the console itself and not the games but Microsoft cleary has been going down the casual tv direction for these last couple of years. Hell the xbox 360 reveal wasn't like this. I'm going ps4 pc vita next gen
it looks like i might have to start saving up to buy a rig
here's a link for all the misinformed fanboys still using the "used game fee" argument:
http://www.polygon.com/2013/5/24/4362680/xbox-one-games-will-require-regular-authentication-checks-used-games
Well, TC said that it is what it is, so what can they do in addition to get me to buy one? Â Make it free. Â If I'm paying just to play online, to play used games, or to watch a movie with more than like 5 people, then they'd better just give me the damn thing because there is no way I am investing hundreds of dollars into what is essentially a state-of-the-art monetary black hole, where my money goes not to my benefit, but to the R&D of whatever monstrosity Microsoft comes up with next to screw me, as a gamer/consumer, over.
Â
If they would change the console and change what's already been stated:
Â
-Free to play online, watch Netflix, etc. Â We already pay for internet, and nobody else charges for this.
-No fees on used games, borrowed games, rented games, etc.
-No DRM at all!  The console itself is a copy protection.  This check-in thing is totally bogus.  They present it as a benefit to us, but really it's a form of control for them.  Then, in a few years when it's time for XBox Two, they can shut the whole thing down and effectively brick our systems if they want.  And what would stop them?  They could make any bullshit excuse and people would eat it up, just like their excuse on the lack of backwards compatibility.  Oh, old games shut down their servers, why can't our old console?  Just buy the new one, you'll be fine!
-Eliminate the Kinect requirement. Â I'm not about to volunteer to have always-on audio bugging and (advanced) video surveillance in my house, much less pay for it. Â As if we'd just trust them not to spy on us. Â You know and I know they're at least gonna be listening for buzz words and conversations in order to advance their marketing, possibly to sell our data to other marketing firms. Â Plus, how long before the police are able to subpoena Kinect data? Â Better not party too hard in front of that thing.
-Release a TV/NFL-free version. Â I don't have cable, I don't give two shits about any sports, so I'd like to buy a version that doesn't have these things ie I don't want to pay for this crap.
-Games.
Â
PS--Have they stated anywhere whether or not Kinect actually has to see people for the system to function? Â Like if you cover it up, or face it to a wall, will the system still work?
as it is now, there is nothing they could do to get me to "buy" one.  WTF that would mean I am  telling MS what they are doing is ok like all the idiots who supported paying to pay online...which is the reason why the x1 is as much as a consumer rip-off POS as it is now.Â

I do find this hilarious. The PS eye, which is a peripheral that bombed, is shipping with every PS4 (supposedly)
I hope it isn't mandatory like Kinect.

Damn, Super supporting genocide. This won't look good when you try to apply to become a mod :(rofl....
I can't believe you guys would let a systems fanbase sway you away from an otherwise fantastic product.
[QUOTE="savagetwinkie"]Your weak. I think honest is more like it, if they were the last system left that would still present a large challenge get a normal life or be butt raped by Microsoft hmmmmmmmmmmmm....They would have to be the only system left to play

There is no way the PS eye is going to be as expensive as Kinect2. It's built to track glowing balls, it's not always on, it's not always watching and listening, and it's not required to be turned on to play all games.
yeah, gawd![QUOTE="FragTycoon"]

Problem is you still need a Compatible Cable box to use those Xbox One features. Netflix streams right to the console with out an additional box. It is a stupid feature because you still have to pay your cable company for a cable box rental. Had MS eliminated the cable box then the Xbox One would have paid itself off by eliminating the $10 a month cable box rental. M.S. is in STUPID mode right now. They had a huge oppurtunity with this and ruined it. Hell if it could have replaced the cable box may be they could have made a deal with cable companies to rent out Xbox Ones as their own box.
required online connectivity once every 24 hours

Is that a confirmed requirement now ? If so I'm not getting the console at all. :|

What would they have to do to sway you?

Keep publishing exclusive games and new IP for a longer period than a couple of years.
[QUOTE="xsubtownerx"]That link says a whole lot of nothing, "We will disclose more in the near future" Carry on. Are you kidding me? Sad you lost some ammunition for the hate? "The Xbox One will not require gamers to pay a fee to reactivate a used game, but it will require a regular online spot check to verify the authenticity of games being played, according to sources familiar with the system." That doesn't look like a whole lot of nothing to me. Also here's GS with their confirmation about this: http://www.gamespot.com/news/xbox-one-preowned-plan-revealed-6408850 Look at UPDATE 2.
