I'm a big Halo fan so I'm attracted to the 360. Also, it's got Mass Effect, and well, those are the only two games I'm intrested in on 360.
On the other hand, I'm also a die hard racer and the PS3 is gonna get GT5...eventually, and GT5 + a wheel and pedal combo would be unbelievably sick. Hard to decide, because GT5 is the only PS3 exclusive I'm into, forget KZ2 and never liked MGS or FF.
well thats a no brainer lol 360 all the way..... the games on xbox are the best.... i have like 20 games for 360and have only owned it since march and have not been let down since i purchasedthem....
360.....
PS3, because I can safely play my games without fear of an internal ticking bomb set to go off anytime and forcing you to go through the painstaking process of having the system replaced / repaired...Brainhunter
painstaking? if you brought a best buy 2 year protection plan, all you gotta do is take it back to the store and get a new one...its only hard if you do it the microsoft way.
You want reliable hardware get 40/80 gig ps3 Or if you have ps2 titles with no ps2 get 80 gig.
If you want a huge selection of next gen games now get 360 But it might fail sometime in the future.
I actually just bought a ps3.
PC gamer first and foremost, therefore bying a 360 is a lil bit dumb, they're redundant.
If you bought a 360 2 years or whatever ago, then I think you made the right choice.
I seriously believe '08 is ps3's year.
Therefore if you're buying a system now, and you don't want a wii, I see a ps3 as the logical choice.
The hardware is going to remain relevant much longer.
Bad place to post. You'll get some biased answers. Just a rundown of the bad things on both systems:
Xbox 360:
- Quite possibly the most unreliable hardware, EVER. (research red ring of death and disk scratching)
- Must sit upright.
- Xbox live is a breeding ground for jerks.
- Microsoft.
- Most good games are first-person shooters.
- Worst 2008 lineup
- 8$ per month to play online (which you will want to)
- More than half of the good games available are on PC as well.
Playstation 3:
- Least sales of all 3
- Above average game lineup but below average for this generation as of late 2007.
- Most expensive.
- The minority.
I can't think of any others, quite honestly. I think it's pretty obvious which one would win an argument in a nonbiased environment. Xbox is just a nonupgradable PC with a monthly fee.
wow, thats 3 threads ive gone into in which H Bomb says those two things, and that's it.
Tell me, bomb, have you seen the line up for 2008?
Sh3rpa
yes i have. Apart from MGS4 and LBP i dont see much (FF13 will be 2009 at the earliest and Killzone 2 will be a POS like the last one)
mrxdemix said it best " Xbox is just a nonupgradable PC with a monthly fee", if you dont have a pc think about the xbox.

no the 360 is a pc that breaks all the time, has inferior online you pay for, has more expensive games and worse controls
PS3, because I can safely play my games without fear of an internal ticking bomb set to go off anytime and forcing you to go through the painstaking process of having the system replaced / repaired...BrainhunterThat old argument holds no water today all of the 360's out now have the falcon chip and run as cool as a Wii. You would know that, wait, no you wouldn't because you don't have a new 360 but I do. That's the only thing cows had on the 360 now what are those guys gonna come up with next?
I'd choose PS3. Better games is opinion. They have Halo, we have Unreal Tournament for example. Also X360 is lacking in action games and platformers. X360 also is lacking any innovative titles, such as Eye of Judgment, Singstar, Echochrome, Little Big Planet, etc... 2008 is very weak for X360 in the games department. So I would recommend PS3. It's more reliable, less expensive when you add up the extra costs for X360, better franchises, better 2008 games, and a wider variety of good titles now. Also PS3 is taking X360 to school in the graphics department lately. Ratchet & Clank, Unreal Tournament, Heavenly Sword and especially Uncharted look better than anything on X360. Add to that Gran Turismo. EmperorSupreme
wow when did they "take them to school in graphics" neither of those games of amazing graphics or they are 6 hours long.
and who wants to wait a year to play games on a system you got for christmas?

Ive seen more stupid things in this thread then in my entire life how is a 360 a PC and what monthly fee do you speack of? and when did X-Box live become inferior, and my 360 has never broke.

Yet all multiplets look better on the 360.
