Im sorry but that game cant keep me interested longer than an hour, so whats the whole story mainly about? Maybe if u make it sound interesting ill give it another shot.
i hate the entire halo thing its just stupid. nothing new nothing cool fall of man is better. i dont get the story myself all i know is that when you play ir your a chief you start out in a room with light some guy talks to you run around find guy get gun and you shoot aliens thats stupid.
Baaasically humans meet an alien race in space... this alien race known as the Covenant wants to completely destroy the human race because apparently it's the "will of the gods". So then they both embark on a universe-wide war wherence the humans get serverely wounded.
Now the GAMES story is going on while the real story is unfolding, your a genetically enhanced super-soldier bred for war. You crash land on some object called "halo" when fleeing from Reach (a human planet that was attacked and whiped out). You try to stop the covenant from activating halo and you eventually succeed.
Ask someone else for halo 2's plot cause I dont wanna type any more.

Actually halo has a rather rich universe, though the game story doesn't seem that good at first glances.
It's actually quite involved and there are several key characters. Problem is, too many people are under the wrong impression that Halo is the story of Master Chief. It's the story of seven ringworlds of unknown and unabridged power, and how they could affect the war between the UNSC and the Covenant. MC is just one of the characters, and not the most important. Oh well....

You'd have to play more than the first 10min to really come up with aviable conclusion of the story imho.
as opposed to non-plain spam? i mean... there is only one flavor ... spiced ham = spam. and The storyline in the first game is about a ring around earth (i think its earth) called the Halo, which has been teraformed and has mountains/trees/rivers/etc. But there are an invading race of aliens, and you (masterchief) are sent there to defend the Halo. I think it turns out that the Halo is some kind of super weapon or some such thing. And I couldn't stand the second game, so I only got about an hour into it. Anyway, its an interesting storyline, but it kinda got lame in the second one. There is "hope" for the third one in my eyes. but who knows. anyway, if you are planning on getting 3, then you might as well play the first two. not my kind of game.. but the first one was good though.

These ugly things things showed up and toally started wailing on humanity, so Humanity was all Like F that, so they injected little green army men with space steroids, and then tey had a bunch of guys, and one was call Master Chief. So then he was all like Allright im totally gonna wail on these ugly guys. and he did, but then He crashed on this messed up space station/uber extinction weapon thing, and a bunch of the ugly guys were on it, so he fully took them to school. then the space station thing blew up. then the ugly guys found earth and the big green guy was all like F that. Then one of the ugly guys totally got branded as a heretic for being prettier than the the other ugly guys. Then the ugly guy leaders said hey you heretic guy, were gonnamake you our official butt kicker guy, and then the pretty ugly heretic said okay. so then the big green guy and the pretty ugly haeretic official butt kicker guy end up together on another messed up space station/uber extinction weapon thing. The the gian plant fromm little shop of horrors tells them to get their act together or else the **** would hit them fan, but they dont, and it does, then it ends.

I guess that was some REALLY good cheap knockoff me and my friend were playing then. I played Halo 1, and we beat it. I remember the commander (or whatever he was) got captured and you had to kill hiim.. or he died some way.. ( it WAS like 4 years ago.. or more) it got really hard though at the end with the flood. Oooohh.. many hours of dying, respawining, and dying again. Was fun taking the shotgun to the little guys though. But man were they creepy.. how they jumped on you... But personally I enjoyed the levels with vehicles. Also, I liked the vehicles in the second one as well. (which were virtually the same as the first one, but I dig the Covenant tanks). I did play the games. So i got the story a little messed up. I wasn't paying attention too well. I just wanted to shoot stuff and win. I would appreciate an appology from you for trying to call me a liar, just because I didn't thing the games were the second coming of pong.
So far I haven't seen one viable response that would indicate a genuine negative opinion about Halo's story. Just random mongering. If you really want to jump the "over rated in every possible way" bandwagon, at least have an argument to back up your opinion.

It's probably no coïncidence that in the bible there's the story of noah who is ordered to build an ark to survive the flooding of the earth. Halo 3 may end with a situation just like in the bible (just a bit though), because the forerunners (who don't exist anymore but are rumoured to be the humans) had to activate the ark or halos in a last attempt to wipe out the flood.

Halo's story is actually pretty good for an FPS. Although it's far from the best or deepest video game story ever, it's plot is one of it's strong points and if your not a complete fanboy, should allure you.

Spartan070 was right you have never played Halo, it shows the giant Gas planet in the Sky for about half of the game. How in gods name you thought that was earth i got no idea, if you played the game you would know all about the story and what is going on ect.. But your just a every day i want Halo on my system but it's not so i hate on it person.

How in gods name you thought that was earth i got no idea also your just a every day i want halo on my system but it's not so i hate on it person. I did play it. I don't know where i got the "ring around the earth thing", cause I actually remember specifically on one of the outdoor maps looking up and seeing the halo go all the way up. It was pretty sweet. Seeing all the mountains and rivers and stuff in the distance, all on the halo. It's hilarious how fanboys will doubt you these days because you aren't dead acurate on your details. Me and my friend played the orignal halo all the way through. We didn't play the second one all the way though. Only for a few hours or some such timeframe. It was alright, but I was unimpressed. It was just like one, only in a different setting, and with the alternate Covenant storyline where you play as that zelot or whatever class those wierd .. skinny.. catfish slug guys gave him. (the very ones you end up having to fight). I honestly don't know where i got the "ring around the earth" thing. I think I got it mixed up with starship troopers or something. lol. Oh, also, what was that computer's name? the one that shows up as the chick, and goes into your helmet/armor (or wherever she goes) at the beginning of the game, and kinda.. guides you through the game, and performs the tasks (like shutting down certain consoles/helping masterchief)? Corvalis? Cor.. something... I think. It is stumping me and I'm too lazy to look up the game. She's in the second one too. and will more than likely be in the third one. Anyway... yeah. I played it. and as I said, I liked one. But two sucked in comparison. (IMO)
