You can change the default control. Use R1 for fire intead of R2.

I do.Go to gamestop and buy real triggers for $4.99. I don't see why you have a problem though. PS3 controller is great for FPSs IMO.
the 360 controller is defiantly better then the ps3

2.Real Triggers > crappy Triggers/ having to pay for triggers lol
3.The position of the analog so your thumbs aren't locked in the same position makes 360 more comfortable for games that use both analogs.
Sony has used to same design for the dual shock for over a decade now they need to get with the times microsoft spent alot of money maknig the 360 controller ergnomical and it shows. Used to think dual shock was the best controller desing until i tried a 360 one.

Don't listen to people on this forum about MW2. It's got a few balance issues but it's still one of the best multiplayer FPSs there is.
I want Killzone 2 on the 360 because of the controller. Killzone 2 on the PS3 controller is horrible. Try taking cover, aiming, and shooting. On the controller layout I use my finger always slips off the crappy trigger of the PS3 controller.

I think the 360 controller is terrible for playing fighting games with, but good for playing shooters... which are the majority of the 360 exclusives. Sigh, not this again...... PGR3,4 Fable2 Forza2,3,Kameo, Banjo........ from the top of my head. There's plenty of other games besides shooters on the 360. Oh, and I agree on the controller part :P
