whats so good about halo?

besides multiplayer...bc it has some awesome multiplayer

Master Chief....The Halo Universe...Story....Gameplay ....Music....Color Pallet....etc

i dont have halo but ive played it numerous times at my friends. And i have to say its the controls, the basic gameplay. ITs fun and easy. however, from a technical standpoint, its not as great as KZ2.

This. Though there is a story, and while it's not fleshed out too well in the games, it's actually not bad.

You have to remember, though, when Halo: CE first came out. It was quite unlike anything that had been seen on a console at that point. It was a good looking game at the time, had a good story, addicting multiplayer, split-screen co-op in the campaign, a great control scheme (that many have since copied on consoles). It was just a really good game.

Now, it lives and dies on the strength of its multiplayer, but it has a very powerful brand behind it. People tend to stay loyal to a series they like.

Yes, you're absolutely right. Every shooter ever made is a copy of Wolfenstein 3D and DOOM. The genre hasn't evolved at all. :roll:

Great universe. Great music.Fun gameplay. Good graphics. And of course great mp.

It is a very accessible and fun shooter. Plain and simple. There isn't a crazy amount of controls or strategies to learn, the vehicles and equipment are great and the single player has a very epic feel to it; like you are doing something important. Not my favourite game by a long shot, but I totally get the appeal

Halo has a great Universe, that could be more realistic than other big games out there. the first Halo is the best of the 3, Halo ODST is awesome good, I like the music it fights perfectly with the gameplay. kinda wished they spent more time on 2 and 3

I'm guessing it is just the MP as the story is meh and those aliens are very cartoonish. I didn't care for the graphics but I will say it is an easy game to pick up.

Graphics: Great, especially from an artistic standpoint.

Sound: Solid Voicework, strong sound effects, outstanding music.

Gameplay: IMO the best at what it does.

Campaign: It has a much stronger story than the other shooters out there (even if you wanna argue it's not a great story). Gameplay is paced better with shooting, vechicle segments etc. Other shooters just don't pace themselves as well.

Multiplayer: The best...more players =/= better. Quality = better

Simple. The combat is very well done and intense, the A.I. is decent, it controls great, the sound is fantastic, the weapons are well balanced and can be strategically utilized in combination (take down a shield with a charged plasma pistol shot, follow up with the shotgun), the levels are well designed, the vehicles are enjoyable, the multi is great, and the story is adequate.

I'm only talking about CE here, I hated the sequels for some reason.

If people would just go into some other forms of media to find out more about the universe and story, they'd love it. If you can't remember that, at least remember United Nations Space Command.

I like that it's FUN. KZ2 looks good but it just doesn't appear to have that FUN factor, just a "hardcore" FPS. Halo can be played by the biggest mlg pros or the most casual n00bs, it's fun for everyone. Also, the universe (not necesarily the story) and the music.

Exactly, most people take one look at Halo and pass it off as space marines fighting the big bad aliens, but if you look a bit deeper, you realize what the story is actually about.

i can't see your avatar clearly enough on my screen to figure out what it is, i'm assuming i can make out an eagle, so i'll guess the Spartan II insignia. did i get it right? if not what is it?
