What's so great about Killzone 2?

I played the game briefly before when I visited a friend, but I finally got around to renting it yesterday, after taking a pretty long break away from my consoles.I don't really see what everyone thinks is so great about it though. So far I played about 45 minutes into the game, but after that I was starting to get bored. Graphically the game is absolutely amazing, better than pretty much anything else I've played on consoles, but as far as the gameplay goes I just wasn't feeling it. The level design felt boxed in and linear, the controls felt pretty clunky, and I just couldn't get into shooting. It didn't really feel like anything special in this aspect, and I don't know the Killzone story well enough for that to especially interest me.What's so great about Killzone, aside from the graphics?

Absolutely nothing. How anyone can tolerate sluggish and clunky controls in an FPS is beyond me.

i think KZ is good, not great. personally, i enjoyed Resistance 2 more than KZ2.

I never stated it as fact, its just my opinion.

Clearly your opinion is wrong. If the controls were indeed sluggish and clunky the reviews would state this. I can have the opinion that sun revolves around the earth. I'm still wrong. Opinion or not.

It's ok, you don't have to enjoy every AAA game. What's so great about it? It's fun and enjoyable. If you don't feel that, meh, maybe it just isn't your kind of game. :)

it's only got graphics going for it gameplay / level / enemy design is weak IMO

Plus it's a ps3 exclusive, that obviously makes it better in SW. :roll:

once you get over the "oh my god, this game looks good" phase it really isn't all that great. a very forgetable story, clunky un-responsive controls and lack of variety keep me from coming back to the single player protion. i wont comment on the multiplayer since i really havn't spent much time with it. i would take either resistance game over killzone 2 anyday.
