whats the best controles for a FPS

No even close, its manbearpig. As you can see in games like metriod you would have to do some EXTREME aim assist to even think about playing the wii (multiplayer).

Hypothetically speaking if Metroid Prime 3 Corruption had multiplayer why would I need aim assist?

Wii mote for great accuracy + more immersiveness

I prefer wiimote though since its just more comfortable and the immersiveness part.

PS: Everyone knows the autosnipe is a sucky ass gun, you wouldn't see it being used in a real competitive map, not a chance in hell.

KB+M is good for aiming but I feel primative using the w,a,s,d keys to move... Not as precise as using the analog to walk slowly or run, that's for sure. I've only used the Wiimote for a little while and thought it was decent, but I'm most at home using Dual Analog. Iono, that's just me. Oh and I HATE aim assist. It screws me out of kills in Halo 3 like this one time, I had my aim set on an enemy and a ghost drives past and takes my aim off of the enemy and onto the ghost, so then I die because of the aim assist....ZanyIce

I know how you feal. it is even harder if you use the arrow keys when your playing with the keybord and mouse. Iam ost fimilar with the duel analog bbut the wii remote is growing on me.

dual analogue is the big loser here. unimmersive and Unintuitive.

i lik the Wiimote most, but the mouse is better for precision aiming.

my order of preference.

1) mouse and keyboard

2) touch screen and dpad with shoulder button on DS

3) wiimote and nunchuck

4) dual analogue controller

5) PSPs control setup.

I like the wii remote because it is as precise as the mouse and it is easy to move around because of the joystick. Not to mention you feal more like your holding a gun. EmperorZeruel

The PC, because of it's precision. The Wii is a good second, but I find myself just resting my elbow on my knee and aiming and firing with my wrist, so it dosen't become any more realistic.

From what I've played, and in order:

1. KB + M

2. Dual Analog (especially competitive play)

3. Wiimote

Fixed, the kb+m varies too much from player to player for the game to be balanced if everyone has the same controller then the game is perfectly balanced but pc's in general are better for competitive play because of dedicated servers.

Also kb+m makes singleplayer very very EZ try any cross platform game on the pc and some other system on the hardest mode(or just use a contoller on the pc). The mouse is just unatrually accurate. I still like the kb+m better cause I'm cheap:P

M/KB / Wii Remote > Dual Analogue

Though dual analogue is easy to use too.

but while i can see why people like the controller, i can't stand it. so used to the mouse and keyboard, everytime i use a controller for a fps i want to break it.

The fact that you need to use a special technique of holding the controller, or change your grip in order to hit all of the buttons on the controller, shows that it was not very well designed. I still play my N64, and the analog stick was certainly novel for the time, but there is nothing about the controller that makes it better than any modern controllers.

The controller is only good from a nostalgic point of view.

Honestly with today's games the Analog controller allows for more! the Key board mouse concept is great but just remember there's only 4 buttons on a mouse and so many you can key to a key board with out over complicating the game play! I vote Analog equal to if not slightly better then the Keyboard + Mouse Theory.....Think about It!SHO_ONE

Ok I thought about it ... your crazy..

Mouse:

Wheel = Fastest weapon switch either way.

Wheel press down = Extra button. ( Drop/Swap weapon? )

2 Side buttons = 2 side buttons ( Melee , Grenade )

WASD = Movement

E & F ( Anything extra, very fast and close by , same with QZXC.

Space = Jump? always very easy.

Shift = Run ...

There is no comparison whatsoever, mouse/keyboard slaughters Controllers in every aspect except analog movement, which isnt much of an advantage at all...
