i liked melee. i dont know really know why, but its better than brawl.
blah blah blah
anyway, melee :D
SSBB is the best.
Meta. Knight.
Silverbond
More like Over. Powered.
I'd go into my whole Brawl rant, but at the end of the day, I love Smash so I'm more critical towards them.:P
I'd go with Melee because it has the most amount of playtime, Brawl is still fun to this day, while the original aged poorly.:(
Meleen > 64 > Brawl.
That's just my opinion though. Brawl ruined Captain Falcon. :(
:P

:P the best is obviously brawl from a content and mechanics standpoint, but for some reason... yeah I actually like melee more :)

Well I'm kinda talking about the competitive side too. SSB64 aged pretty poorly. Still a fun game.Brawl is fun with friends but I hate playing the game seriously. I also found Brawl to be a bit too floaty for my taste. I like the fast pace of 64 and Melee.

I mainly played with Mario in the original, but I wasn't a big fan until Melee came out a month after the NGC launch.:) I only had Luigi's Mansion so it was a huge plus.:D

ahh... that's why I like melee better. yeah, I actually think melee is the better game than brawl. still though there's no way ssb64 is as good as the other 2.
I hope the next smash bros brings the fast pace back, but has a crap ton of content like brawl :) or most likely even more :o

Eh I still prefer 64. Only problem is that it gets repetitive at times. The single player was boring. Though the single player always sucks in SSB. :PAlso 64 grabs was awesome. So over-powered. :P

But Ganondorf was never worth anything to begin with, so yeah :o Also, what is up with your sig? Did Raymundo get banned? :cry:Brawl because of the final smashes, excellent music and better multiplayer because you can play target test,Home Run and Event matches with another player.

The final smashes turned me off of Brawl. Plus, my hype was insanely high for the game that it was bound to not live up to my expectations. Although the rest of the stuff you said is true, I'd have to go to melee.
Although if you combined elements of each game, you could have an amazing experience:
Unique target test and board the platforms in SSB + Gameplay mechanics in Melee + Stages, characters, music, co-op, and other added features in Brawl

The knee of Justice! That what I usually called it. :PYou should look up some of the combos you could do in Melee. Playing it competitively was fantastic. :)
I hyped Brawl so much that I had conditioned myself to thinking about it whenever I had some alone time. To this day, I still ask myself "man I can't wait until brawl comes out" and then I realize it's been 3 years. I remember my first match playing as wario oh so clearly. It's a shame the online was so bad, they were so close to perfection. I played the game a few years competitively, but ultimately came to the conclusion that metaknight was broken and gave up.
Here's to SSB, the best series of all time.
By the way, my username is one(it was delayed at least 3 painful times.) of the intended release dates for brawl. I was that pumped for it.
Brawl... Then again, Melle is still fun to play today, and has some better maps... I don't know... I'm torn between Brawl and Melle...
Does the fact that Brawl has Melee maps help at all? :PBrawl... Then again, Melle is still fun to play today, and has some better maps... I don't know... I'm torn between Brawl and Melle...

I think that there were better maps they could have brought over... but, yeah, it helps.
Both are great games, and will sureley stand the test of time. Melle is better than many games today. And I can't think of higher praise than that.
[QUOTE="charizard1605"] What identity issue did the later games have?foxhound_foxThey tried to be fighters, while trying also to stay brawlers... and ended up being neither really good as either.Brawl I can agree with. Melee had the best of both worlds though. It had a good amount of depth to play competitively but everyone could pick the game up and enjoy it.

I don't know... I think there's a lot of depth to each character... (aside from Olimar lol) Leaarning the exact animations, when to attack, every little nuance... although, I will agree, the competitiveness is kind of killed by someone getting a smash ball from a death streak... But I'd still say it's decent competitivley.
Brawl is the best game. But i still cant believe it doesnt have a singl N64 stage. wtf HAL?
But i enjoyed melee the most. I was around 13 when it came out and with 8 of us, so much fun was had.

Yeah that's why there's no other way to play SSB competitively than without items. Through all the years I put into that game, less than 5% were probably matches with items.Vanilla, Melee, but with Mods, Brawl.
If you want balanced roster, melee fighting properties, randomness taken out, you can use the Brawl+ mod.
If you want ultra overpowered characters with ridiculous new moves for LOL hilarity, you can use the Brawl- mod.
Tricky question, eh chaz?? but you won't fool me...true answer is "lol SSB is not a real fighter, so none".
What do I get?? :D
Take this as you will.
I've played all 3 games. I spent over 100 hours with the first and second entries in the series.
However, Brawl I've only played for about 3 hours altogether.
I never got to play one player mode, go through the adventure thing, experience everything it has to offer and get a feel for the game. But with that said, it was still solid.
However, from my experience with that game, the only things superior to Melee were the graphics, the bigger roster and the addition of the final smash (or whatever it's called).
It's actually a good game in my eyes from what I've played, but I thought Melee was better overall.
The original is also, but it just doesn't cut it compared to the other 2.
Like I said, my opinion could change once I buy Brawl and play it for 20 hours or so but for now.
Melee > Brawl >>> Super Smash Bros. 64
Pfft, real men play Super Smash 8)Tricky question, eh chaz?? but you won't fool me...true answer is "lol SSB is not a real fighter, so none".
