What's the best version of Resident Evil 4?

I think RE4 was the greatest revival of a video game franchise ever. Its been released on the Gamecube, then on the PS2, then on the PC, and finally on the Wii. But which version do you think is the best of this modern classic?

I'd say Wii because of the superb aiming. It's really fun to aim with the remote, and it's probably the one game where I think the developers really took their time with the Wii controls. Yes, it's a re-make of the PS2 version, but I don't care: The gameplay is addictive and incredibly entertaining. Playing it on the Wii is like playing a whole new game. It's too bad that the majority of Wii games do not take advantage of the motion sensing capabilities like RE4. :[

The graphics would look phenomenal, but that's really it.

I know, if the Cube looked that good, imagine how good it could have looked on the original xbox, it would have beat some 360 launch titles in visuals

but i've played iton ps2 and gamecube andoutof the 2 gamecube has a little bit better graphics not by much though and better sound. for some reason ps2 ports have awful sound

There is a mod out their that fixes all the contolls, but I believe that by default it does support gamepads.

I thought the Wii version would be horrible but it turned out being the best..sammyjenkis898

Well said. I'm pretty much constantly annoyed at how little I have to play on my Wii, but ironically Capcom's port of Resident Evil 4 is just amazing on the console...One of my favorite Gamecube games was instantly made obsolete when I popped in RE4: Wii Edition.

That's how I felt... Once I played the Wii version, I felt the need to buy the best guns, the upgrades, and unlock all the extras AGAIN.

I liked the PC version.

Not really, it just made shooting the ganados more fun. Besides, "too easy" is the same argument I always use about one of the reasons I don't like using a mouse for FPS games, and you don't see many people here agreeing with me.

That's you though, I had no problems whatsoever with the PS controls even after trying the GC controls. The R1 + Square combo is what you find yorself using the most anyway.

with the mouse support mod, it still just doesnt feel right at all, and you can only use the mouse when aiming, not when turning and stuff when walking

if they actually put some time into the pc port with a mouse controlled camera behind and accurate movement with the mouse when aiming, it would of been great

but either way, if u got a pad, pc version is still completely playable and fun, of course slightly better looking with high rez and some graphic mods, but another things that really urks me wiht the pc version is that your locked at 30 fps! could of been so much nicer and smoother without an fps lock

but overall the FUNNEST platform to play this is by far the wii, almost anyone whose played it on the wii would have to agree

I'm guessing the Wii version is the best. But I think the PC version gets a bit too much bashing at times. I thought it was quite good. Only problem I had at the start were the QTEs which gave only obscure references like "press 3 not to die", but after I figured out which button in the gamepad is "3" etc. I really had no problems with the game. I even think it looks pretty good for a last gen game.
