I think RE4 was the greatest revival of a video game franchise ever. Its been released on the Gamecube, then on the PS2, then on the PC, and finally on the Wii. But which version do you think is the best of this modern classic?

I'd say Wii because of the superb aiming. It's really fun to aim with the remote, and it's probably the one game where I think the developers really took their time with the Wii controls. Yes, it's a re-make of the PS2 version, but I don't care: The gameplay is addictive and incredibly entertaining. Playing it on the Wii is like playing a whole new game. It's too bad that the majority of Wii games do not take advantage of the motion sensing capabilities like RE4. :[

Yes. The developers really took their time with the Wii controls...yet they didn't even bother to allow you to aim scoped weapons with the pointer...and you use the same waggle motion over and over when there are far superior alternatives (see how Nintendo uses dual motion on the Wiimote and Nunchuck to make the character run in Disaster: Day of Crisis for a superio solution). They also still have the stupid "hold another button to make your character run" when the analog nature of the analog stick is perfect for this. The character also turns as though he only uses 8 directions (he doesn't but that is often how it feels).

They really did do well :o

The Wii version was/is the best.
It had the best controls, even allowing you to use the ol' Gamecube pad if you wanted to.
Making the GC one obsolete. And, it had all of the PS2 content.

Though, with the better controls, it also became incredibly easy.
I was able to play on the hardest difficulty without dying once.

Hey, didn't you guys hear? There's a new version of RE4 coming out for the PS3 and 360 next year >_>Silent-Hal

If that were even true, i'd buy it. I'd buy EVERY single RE game updated to todays standards. Keeping the 2d backgrounds like the remake is a must too.

RE4 is probably the best game I've ever played, I had 2 copies of it on Gamecube and I now own the Wii version (which is the best version out there). I really hope they don't mess up RE5. I'm kinda worried about it as the producer of RE4 is not working on RE5

GameCube version. It was the original and has the best visuals (next to the Wii version, of course). I kind of felt like the Wii controls were a little bit slapped on. It also made the game far too easy.

wii version is agreed upon to be the best

-improved controls

-the graphics, onscreen enemies, framerate of the GC version

-the new content of the ps2 version

Sonick54

that and even if you don't like the wiimote controls...you can plug in a classic controller.

It's a win-win situation really.

Waggle? So are you saying you waggle to aim and shoot?

Aside from that, the Wii version is the best. I think Gamecube is slightly better than PC which is better than PS2. Simple as that. The mods for PC are nice and all but the controls detract from the fun while on the Wii, controls add to the fun. In this thread it seems even the slightest compliment for the Wii gets bashed.

Hard to say.

The PC version has all those cool mods - especially the high resolution texture ones.

The Wii version has the motion controller.

Still I < 3 my PS2 one with my Chainsaw controller :)

Wii, having owned that version I decided to go back and play it on Gamecube again, it was literally unplayable because of the slow aiming. I just wish I hadn't already completed it like 12 times on Gamecube, I only completed the Wii version twice it was boring by that point, still my favourite game ever though.

Also this is a little off topic but If I were to change the sensitivity of my mouse in control panel, would that increase the speed of aiming in the game?
