Only PC games are real games. Everything else is apparently imaginary. I never actually played Fable on the Xbox. It was all in my head.

Again, it's not really a fair test because we have to gauge variables (ie, if the incremental system means they were rounding up and down, how much better they thought the lack of technical issues made the game, etc).

When we use fair tests, we often see that GameSpot rates PC games of equal or higher quality, lower than console counterparts. The big proof is the GameSpot Greatest games of all time list, the majority are PC games and many are sub AAA.

That's not to say NeverWinter Nights 2 and Fable are good games to compare in scores, since their divided both by platform and by time. The standards and expectations laid at NeverWinter Nights 2 feet were higher, but again, it's a bad comparison because of the variables.

like i said, PC gaming is my favourite platform (yes even more then the 360) but this guy actually makes me ashamed to call myself a PC gamer

Though GS is what we go by and the fact a 8.6 is considered great by any standards, I think it fair to post this and advise reading the 8 PAGE review ending with:

10Presentation
A true storybook game, the fresco-painting cut-scenes are a perfect idea and the controls are very intuitive. Albion is a very dense world that has a rich history.

9.0Graphics
Beautiful environments and great details on your character. The bloom lighting is a nice touch of the fantastic and the magic looks great. Occasional framerate drops and repetitive NPC skins hurt.

9.0Sound
Beautiful opening score from Danny Elfman and plenty of great voice dialogue. Some of the sounds get repetitive and I wish a few of the creatures sounded a bit more varied.

9.0Gameplay
It's lost a lot of what would have made it revolutionary, but the combat is good and the game is still a lot of fun. Some of those NPC reactions are priceless. Great humor.

10Lasting Appeal
Sure, the main adventure is short for an RPG, but there's reason enough to play again. Plus, the world is dense with secrets and fun stuff. It's great to just fool around for a while.9.3

The original Fable SUCKED! It promised much more than it could deliver and when I realized that I already had the best armor in the game when I was only about half way through... i quit playing.

Now Fable 2 comes out, and I don't see what everyone else who is so excited sees. A dog? Multiplayer with friends? An environment where people die and they stay dead? Who knows, maybe these ideas will be followed through fully in the second fable, but I'm not getting my hopes up. No gameplay videos I have seen of this game has me sold.
