What's the consensus on Halo 2?

Its definatly worse than halo 1. Its completly obvious.

though Halo 3 will be far better than both of them.

I would say Halo: CE, for the vastly superior single player, but halo 2's online was great.

Campaign: Wasn't as good as it should have been, level design was somewhat lacking, ending was possibly the worst I've ever had in a game before.

Multiplayer: Same great multiplayer mechanics, online very robust for its time and is still good to this day, very competitive too which is a plus for me.

Yeah, Halo 2 was no more than 10, and Halo: CE was close to 20.

I prefered Halo 2, both were great though.

I liked the multiplayer a lot. In fact I got live just to play it online. But the singleplayer while still being fun, wasn't as good as Halo 1.swaginator

Bingo. The single player wasn't bad, it was just not as good as the first and it was kinda cut short. It is fun though.

Oh god, I didn't read your post too well. I believe you mean that it took you a long time to actually finish 2, but you beat 1 right away, since it was better.

the skill involved is like 1/4 of that in CE. its noob friendly. hence why so many people play it and there are only the hardcore halo players left playing CE.

I liked it, although I like Halo 1 so much more. I asked for Halo 1 for Christmas randomly for my PC and loved every minute of it. Then I got my 360 last September and played Halo 2. While it was still a great game,especially with the online aspect, it just didn't meet the first one's quality.

I believe I will like Halo 3 a lot more than 1 and 2 because this will be the first Halo that I get in on the first day. Can't wait :).

And i'll tell you another thing that is awesome about Halo 3. They took out the damn homing rocket launcher. So now it'll actually take skill to shoot it again. And i like it like that. I remember some of the best kills in Halo 1 were the ones that you got randomly on a warthog that was way out of range and you had lead the shot perfectly to get the kill. Not only were they very gratifying to get, but they were hilarious, and they were good trash talking moments.

My only complaint when i played the beta was the spartan laser though. I just didn't like that weapon very much.

1) halo 2 has WAY more aim assist. this is a proven fact.
2) dual wielding = spray tactics = noob
3) sword...OMFG SO LEET
4) sweep sniping - ANY noob can get headshots in H2 they practically give them to you
5) LOCK ON ROCKETS........
6) i have played PLENTY of online H2 and H1.....how about you?
