[QUOTE="clone01"][QUOTE="campzor"]that has what to do with gameplay?campzor
Quite a bit actually. Have you used it? Judging from your signature, I'm guessing no.

i had xbl for 1 month(free month).. i talked to my mate with it and seemed just like a normal voice chat.. please explain how it effects gameplay at all.

My friends and I use it all the time in Borderlands to get primo gear unbeknownst to the other coop players. Certainly an advantage.

I think he means the actual gameplay, like connections and lag and such, with those there is no difference.

Oh, I know. Play-wise, you're absolutely right. I just find it amusing that, just because one doesn't find value in XBL, they assume that no one else does either, which I believe he was insinuating.

Some people say it plays better on the 360 but I don't even know what that means. They are only trying to justify paying for something that should be free IMO

its what hoenstly makes live better then psn i could be playing gears my friend could be playing halo and we still could chat about anythin its pretty badass

1. That doesnt effect gameplay 2. You can do the same via text on ps3 (not as quick but still there)

Using voice chat may not affect gameplay, but sending text messages does affect game play by interupting it.

There are differences. For one, one doesn't get hacked, compromise gamers CC data and go offline for a month. No difference my @#%!! There are differences with features, download time and quality of patches.

Very little in terms of gaming, however the main difference is that PSN offers slightly more Dedicated Servers(apparently).

Actually XBL accounts did get hacked and have compromised CC info, and some lost money too.

The fuss is over the fact you do alot more than simply game online. You talk to friends, you watch/play content, you interact with the online community ect. Xbox Live does all of these things 100% better than PSN.

Parties are something you can do in a game. And outside of a game for that matter.

Same thing with cross game invites and chat. Implemented at the OS level and works in ALL games with no need to start a separate app to take advantage of its features.

It more than meet the criteria.

I don't unless i am playing with them, and i have pay for live and never once used party chat,is just a team work killer, for people who want to really win a game. Watching content on PSN is more or less the same as on live, sony has just a bigger library of movies than MS does, well because they have partner ship with other movie studios like sony's own. There is netflix and Hulu on PSN,and both are not hide under a pay scheme.

Yes but is not part of the gameplay, lag is host advantage issues are, disconnect, game drops, those affect gameplay. In the only way party chat affect gameplay,is by ruining team work, because people are talking with other players out side the game, instead of with their team mates, you don't know how many games i loss on Halo Reach because of lack of communication, then there is cheating, because in many games in many mods, once your dead you are not suppose to talk to your team mates, but since party chat runs over the game chat system, you still talk and you tell other player who still alive in the game where the enemy is hiding. This is not an opinion of mine is a fact Activision blocked party chat in some mods in COD because of telling,so it only affected the gameplay in a negative way,and there is nothing positive other than you talking with your friend who is in another game, also ruining the experience for other players because of the lack of communication.

When I want to invite a friend or better yet a NON FRIEND on ps3 it is a hassle, a headache, on the 360 its very easy to do.

There is a huge difference if you play with friends when you compare the two.

really its actually very easy. I dont get how people have such a hard time and yes iv used both live and psn. Only thing live has over the friend invite is that you can make your party before the game. Besides that though its very easy to invite in game and is far far far far far from a hassle.

Then I think the TC is missing the point regarding the appeal of Xbox Live. It's NOT just about the actual gameplay. The reason the TC's original post doesn't make sense to me because he's inferring that that's all there is to being online.

I noticed from my personal experiences that XBL is a lot simpiler and more reliable to use. When playing Call of Duty on my PS3 i constanly cant connect to the host, and i can hardly ever join some players parties. With XBL i dont have that problem. I also like how XBL has Cross Game Invites and Chat.

There is nothing that is not user friendly on PSN,it should be call interface for mummies,is simple is fast and easy to learn, even more if you owned a PSP,which more than 70 million used, that is 15 million more than the xbox 360.

Your Connection and nothing more.

Both PSN and Xbox Live really don't have a lot of Differences in terms of Online Play.

Is very easy to see that the majority of the xbox 360 user base doesn't know what actual gameplay is,or ignore it come on both system are the same when it come to core gaming, both have laggy games both have clean games. That is actual gameplay, not party chat or integration,is the reason i don't like to pay for XBL,because i don't care for integration i just care about having fun on multiplaying.

they're the same. that's why i will never pay for Live. seriously.

also, not everyone has a gamer friend. all of my friends do not play video games, probably only 1 or 2 has a PS3 like me so i could care less about Cross game chat or whatever. if i wanna spend some time with my friends we go out and have fun and not lock ourselves inside our houses and talk inside a virtual world. gaming for me is time for myself and away from reality.

again, only 1 or 2 of my friends have a ps3, and it's not even theirs it's their sibling's consoles. they play once in a while, but gaming is my hobby. when we go out we don't sit in front of a couch and play splitscreen what i mean is we physically go outside the house and burn calories or go somewhere else.

So if I'm playing Call of Duty, and you're playing Uncharted 2.. you can invite me to your game and I can easily hit one button(well, two buttons) and join your game?

Yea i can send you a invite while your playing cod trust me it constally happens to me. though you would need to stop playing cod and put uncharted 2 in.

There is nothing that is not user friendly on PSN,it should be call interface for mummies,is simple is fast and easy to learn, even more if you owned a PSP,which more than 70 million used, that is 15 million more than the xbox 360.tormentos

why would mummies care about user interface?

Xbox online thing is better, but the PSN community is better.

I have XBL but i used to own a PS3, fyi

From what i've seen (playing COD4 a few years back), its easier to mod on the PS3. Just because its OS seems to be a bit more open, and maybe the consequences of getting banned are smaller (since its a free account). But otherwise, its pretty much identical.

Na its pretty dang easy. When I play online I go to invite friend select which friend or friends in 1 go and thats it. If that really is a hassle to you then I dont know what to say to you then. Again iv used both and they are both very easy to use.

I can only think of cross-game chat, other than that there's no difference.

Nothing...I've owned Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Call of Duty MW2 & Call of Duty Black Ops for both 360 and PS3 and the matchmaking for both is exactly the same...all the fanboy logic of there being a huge glaring difference between PSN & Live is make believe.
