What's the great thing about Mario?

This is Mario Games we are talking about..go read any of the Super Mario reviews if you wanna know what makes 'em so great.

this is probably the smartest thing i've heard. the TC could just read a review. why bother making us repeat what the review probably already says.

The TC was given ample reasons to the greatness of mario games.  He dismissed all of the arguments.  Anyone that is seriously trying to say Mario games are not fantastic and didn't change the way games are done is one of two things: new to gamming (ignorance is bliss) or a troll.

Clearly he should have just read any one of the dozen reviews of a Mario game.  The beauty of a search box.

When you buy a Mario game (not necessarily his spinoffs) you know its going to be great. Can't say the same about sonic. And Rachet is more of a shooter than a platformer imo.

dont know any other character that

-do 2d platformers

-do 3d platformers

-do kart racers

-do puzzles, party games, and fighting games

-do a galaxy space themed game

Sonic and ratchet probably wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Miyamoto,i wouldn't underestimate what he did for the gaming industry,he made the industry.

Sonic was only made as a competitor to Mario,Sega needed something other than Alex the Kidd (he was quite popular but nothing near Mario).
