What's the last "top" game from each console maker?

1st party content has seemed pretty weak this gen from all 3, for whatever reason.

Sony: Uncharted 4, awesome game, no complaints.

Microsoft: Halo 5 or Forza 6 last winter. It's been a quiet year.

Nintendo: Xenoblade? Been a whole heap of nothing this year, sadly.

Thoughts? Disagreements?

I'm talking 1st party games. Traditionally, they are some of best games on consoles. Exclusive or not, the Last Of Us will always be one of the PS4's titanic games.

I do think first party games, all of them, are weaker this gen. I'm unsure why.

Sorry, I disagree. TLOU will always be one of the PS3's Top games. It is not a PS4 game. It is an up resolution, barely 1 year old, PS3 game.

I say for Ninty its Splatoon, Sony has Bloodborne and MS has Forza 6.

You can't disagree with facts though. Last Of Us is factually a 1st party Sony game. You can think of it as a PS3 game, but it will still be on PS4 too. I considered it the best PS4 game for a long time, even if it was a last gen port.

Twilight Princess was the best Wii game, in the same circumstances, until Galaxy came out.

What do you mean by top here? A good fucking game, or a legit great game?

Because the latter? None of the first party devs have made a great game since The Last of Us (haven't played UC4 yet, calm down), otherwise Bloodborne was damn good, but that's a From Software joint, but if it counts then yeah definitely that. Good games? I dug me some Ratchet & Clank 2016 (technically insomniac is third party, but ratchet as a franchise isn't), for the WiiU I guess it's Splatoon for me, but I've heard good things about Pokken and Tokyo Mirrage Sessions, and in case of Microsoft yeah probably Halo 5.

But yeah the first party stuff this gen has been mediocre. Nintendo has underperformed by their standards and is creatively dull, but honestly Microsoft and Sony are exactly who they always were. As in their first party was never that fucking good to begin with. Microsoft doesn't have enough studios, doesn't have enough diversity in their portfolio, and their best studios are a racing dev, and two tribute bands to Bungie and Epic games. And Sony's first party teams make a lot of pretty games that don't actually play all that well.

It's not exactly a surprise that a shit load of the best games this gen are third party and multiplats. **** in the case of The PS4 and WiiU their best exclusives are from a third party studio.

Halo 2 is a fantastic Xbox game. It doesn't count as an X1 exclusive because of MCC.

Sony: Shadow of the Colossus (never got a PS3 or PS4 yet, so...)

PS4 : Uncharted 4 ( as exclusives )

X1 : What exclusives ... I dont even know which game is X1 exclusive and which is on PC anymore. Even past generations lems leaving the MS train for SONY or NINTENDO let alone PC. So ill say HALO 5 as 1st party just for the sake of TOPIC

Wii U : Mario 3D world ( i never understood all the "epic gameplay" Ninties talking about when it comes to games like KART or SMASH nor i ever will. They are as plain and as responsive as other similar games )

Wii U: Xenoblade Chronicles X, or Mario Maker (depending on which release date you use for XCX. I haven't played Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE, so that might be another contender.

Nintendo: Splatoon

Sony: UC4

Microsoft: Halo Reach (only 1st party game I played on the Xbone is one of the Forza games)

@aigis: Your missing out bro, Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival is one of the best party games ever made. And Happy Home Designer although way too easy, is an amazing decorator game. You just drag and drop. Its actually pretty fun, just has no challenge so older people arent really into it. Can feel pointless and boring without a challenge.

Example, dude will tell you to decorate the school so kids can study. I made inside class room so weird and crazy and dude was like, looks great, fantastic work. I was all like...umm, ok.

naw man. Mario Party 3 is way better. Free movement and minigames after everyone has a turn is a must. Mario Party 10's kart ruins the game and having to land on minigame space is awful. Bowser Party was a cool idea, but it is really unbalanced, if everyone wasnt in the same space maybe it would be better. The new mario party games are just not fun and have no strategy. Nintendo always wants to shake it up, but honestly they are just not good games. Give me Mario Party 3 over any other one, anything over 7 is garbage

Sony: Bloodborne (one of the two games I want on the PS4, the other being Ratchet and Clank)

Microsoft: Freelancer (One of the greatest space sims arond)

Nintendo: Super Mario Maker (Just sitting back and playing the latest batch of sadistic level design is still a joy) In a day and age, where devs would make map editors more convoluted (starcraft 2) and more time consuming (LBP), this was a nice change of pace)
