What's the longest a console has gone without an AA+ exclusive in its lifetime ?

The 360 hasn't had one since gears 2 and I was just wondering if any console has failed so badly before.

Hmmm...good question.

I know the 360 was suffering from a drought, but I didn't realize the severity.

Honestly if during that time a console still gets a few AA / AAA multiplats it really doesnt bother me much..

Also with upcoming titles such as Forza3 & Halo:ODST having a good chance of being AAA titles, it wont be much of a longer wait for 360 only owners..

Assuming this is correct, that means that the 360 overtook that formerly held PS3 record, as Halo ODST and Forza come out after August.

Although, the 360 kinda gets a free ride, since it's 1st year, it had no next gen competition...kinda like the Dreamcast, but the 360 was far more successful. :)
Ah well, I suffered through PS3's 2007, and 360's 2008, I can make it throught 2009 as well. :)

Halo Wars Scored a 6.5, that's what we are not giving the PS3 any room too, just like the TC didn't count PSN titles(It's a whole other can of worms.).

HALO WARS Gamespot Review = 6.5.

When looking at AA+ SW GS Retail Droughts, I suppose that PS3's 1st year, 2007 = to 360's 4th year, 2009?

Assuming this is correct, that means that the 360 is about to overtake that record

You are making an argument for ShC (Shadow Complex) but not realizing you are trying to open Pandora's Box, and all fanboy's would wreak havoc on what little rules we have had for years here.

I own ShC, and it's great, but oh well, that's how the cookie has crumbled for years.

Besides, that would give Sheep and Cows a ton more to argue about on their side.

Besides, the massive vast majority (Actually probably no one) is buying 360's PS3's, PC's, Wii's, for short DLC. Those are tide me overs for the BIG retail releases.

I think also ShC biggest flaw is that owning it for two days, you probably beat it three to four times, but like Braid which I beat in 3-4 hours, it was good fun.

Do any fanboys for any console really need to LEAN ON DLC to meet a standard? I don't think so, even if it hurt the PS3 in 2007, and it hurts the 360 in 2009.

ME2, Splinter Cell, Forza, Halo 3 ODST, and Halo Reach are all going to be great games. Great LIST!!!!! :P

The issue is 2009 :

ME2 = 2010-2011? Bioware is always late, and Bioware's working on Dragon Age before ME2. Dragon Age is now delayed again, so that's going to affect ME2.

Halo Reach = 2010. Natal Launch. Reaching in Halo confirmed, plus it's a double entendre, as Reach was part of the Halo Canon.

Splinter Cell : Con = 2010. Delayed. Again, would have been a great AA excelusive for 2009, but tis not to be.

So, when looking at 2009, that leaves FORZA 3 and the Halo 3 Expansion, although I already mentioned those. :)

As far as PS3 admittng the 360's library shows that the PS3 fans can play by a set of rules, and most console fans do in SW, save for those in this thread that want to change up the system.

As far as the PS3 going through LONGER Drought, that's what this thread is trying to determine, so far the 360 has the longest drought judging the responses in this thread.

This is just the META GAME of SYSTEM WARS. :)

Question by TC was simple, but answering that PS3 had the same problem in 2007 is not the answer.. We all know its true.. Personally the last 360 exclusive I bought was Geow2 and the next ones will be Forza3 & Halo:ODST.. so I say excluding Halo Wars & ninja blade there wasnt much in terms of exclusives on offer for 360 ONLY owners... Luckily there were some great multiplats being released..

Surely 360 has some great titles coming up mostly in 2010 but same can be said for PS3... we know that if a 360 fan will say but we shall soon get Forza3, Halo:ODST, Splinter cell, ME2, Alan Wake & Halo Reach between 2009 - 2010 that will be countered with a PS3 fan who say and we'll get Ratchet & clank, Uncharted2, Demon Souls, WKC, Heavy Rain, GT5, GOW3, MAG, The last Guardian etc etc

So its somehow stupid to say 360 has the superior library cause we just go by SCORES or numbers, both consoles have a great games library and a large variety, so it all comes down to personal tastes in gaming.. And trust me both consoles have so much to offer with none being SUPERIOR..

Do you think a new console buyer will say geez i'll get console X cause it has100AA / AAA titles while console Y has only 85 AA/AAA titles? NO, cause its not like they'll get from day one of their purchase 100 titles.. they just go by PRICE & which exclusive titles they are interested in more and then decide which console is better suited for them..

And right now PS3's games library is on par with 360's and with the latest price cut surely PS3 is now more affordable..

Hopefully things will change for the 360 once Halo ODST and Forza 3 comes out.

Also, the two GTAIV expansions are coming out on a stand alone disc, so that also has a good chance at scoring AAAE.

I havent been too impressed by anything but multiplats this year anyway. So I dont see what the big deal is. None of the systems this year had anything spectacular, except maybe DoW2 on the PC, which was alot of fun. RE5, SF4, Red Faction G, and Shadow Complex have been the best games I have played this year anyway. And I expect Batman AA will probably top the list very soon.
