Whats the point of buying an xbox now that ps3 price is low??

i dont see the point. at beggining i admit that it would make sense to buy it, cause of the ps3 high price and poor library, altough i dont know xbox intial library. but as there was no way i would buy and xbox over a ps, i waited for ps3 price drop and got it last year. anyway. really, i dont see any advantages of the xbox over the ps3 now. ps3 has now a better library, and if you dont consider that a fact, at least you most consider it is the one wtih more types of games. you dont get good plataform games like ratchet or LBP on xbox. thats just an example. then it doesnt even have an WI-FI, i found this today, i couldnt even imagine it not having it. you have to pay to play online. and it has RROD, wich happens a lot. whats the point of buying a 360 over a ps3?? none. and you should stop comparing forza3 to GT5 cause thats hilarious. forza at same lv of GT. If a person could only get one, then I would understand getting a PS3 over a 360 since it has more value, more exclusives,BR player, etc. However, there is point to getting a 360 considering it has some games PS3 doesn't. For the same reason I didn't get a 360 -- because I didn't care for the games. I didn't care much for Gears of War, Halo 3, Crackdown, etc. I prefer stuff like Metal Gear Solid 4, Uncharted, Disgaea 3, etc. For some people it's the complete opposite. Why bother getting a system if you don't like the exclusives that set it apart from others?

my xbox 360 is a Jasper and RROD is an unknown word for me.

IMO the controller is not even close as good to dualshock3. but i guess its a matter of a taste. iv always played playstation so its obvious i will always prefer this one. but i think the xbox controller is too big, the analogics are worst, it seems a very fragil control, and it doesnt have six axis. i know you think six axis is useless. but its not. its devs fault they cant give good functions to it. but there a pretty good uses of it in a few games. that thing of their friends of have one only works in america. as everyhwere else, at least here, people prefer the ps3 over the xbox. and tell your friends to get a ps3, that way no more probs like that. halo: reach. LOL again, only america cares for that. and ps3 has enough exclusives that top halo. uncharted 2 is just an example.

Uh, I didn't know all friends part of the Live community were now part of the PSN community and the entire PSN community was the same as the live community. The 360 has more WRPGs then the PS3 and as for fun games, they both have them but they aren't all the same. Hence preference.

why not buy a pc which is much faster and offers far more value than a ps3 for only a bit more? ps3/x360 are the same except ps3 has some br drive which is only good if your into movies. If you want value get a budget pc with athlon 2 240 4gb ram 500gb hdd an radeon 4770 which is way faster than any console and hardly costs more and then you get all the benefits of a pc. imprezawrx500

Real resaons why an adult with interest in games and also game development (at hobbist level) would still prefer a X360:

• XBLA/Indie Games
• XNA development
• Natal is likely to be much more interesting the PS3 motion controllers
• online community is much better organized
• games are cheaper!

RROD is a thing of the past and, even if the PS3 (slim) is a much better designed system and has no brick, this is not enough, at least for me. Nevertheless I'd go for the PS3 if there were something comparable to XNA, but Sony is too narrow minded to allow something like that.

Halo is perhaps the most popular shooter this generation, and it's an iconic franchise. Many people will buy oen just for that.

Let's see here:

1.) It's $100 more cheaper than the PS3.

2.) Most multiplats run, look, & play better than the PS3 versions.

3.) Better online & tons of features.

4.) Better PC conversions, among other things.

5.) Better controller (IMO).

6.) About Blu-Ray, there are some standalone Blu-Ray players out there that are even better than the Blu-Ray player inside the PS3 itself (even though the Blu-ray player is fantastic on PS3). Plus possibly more cheaper, too.

7.) 360's library is much larger than PS3's.

Anything else I'm missing?

Not all PC versions of games are better than console versions. Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition & Resident Evil 4 are examples. Not to mention for backwards compatibility that it's also a pain to play older games like Final Fantasy 7 on the PC when you're upgrading your computer (I have that, as well as the PS1 version still, by the way). You also must find patches, etc. in order to play the PC versions of games on your upgraded PC. That's another flaw for PC owners. For consoles, you can just easily put the disc or cartridge inside of the system, & it'll boot the game up, no prob.

There is no point in owning a 360 unless you already have one. Blu-Ray, Blue Tooth, Internet Browser, Free online play, more freedom(as too whatt you can do on it). Xbox is a ripp-off compared to what you get with a PS3 for about the same price. Im a avid gamer, or you can call me hardcore if you want, ive owned almost all the systems starting from the nes except the 360. As a gamer i like being able to play my old sytems/games 5-10 or more years after they were released, and i dont see that being a possibility with the 360 because of the failure rate. Thats is one of the major things you should factor into the price comparison too! Imagine having 30+ 360 games 10 years from now and not being able to play them because there are no working systems, what a wasted investment!

I admit that if I were to choose one console now I'd probably get a PS3, but after owning a 360 for nearly 3 years I don't regret it one bit. It's one of the best consoles I've ever owned. Regardless, I could get a PS3 now if I really wanted one too, but with only a handful of different exclusives (and considering most mulitplats are better on 360 anyway) I can live without one for now. I am happy I chose 360 first, that's for sure.
