I understand owning a PS3 + Wii or a 360 + Wii, as the majority of Wii games do not come on PS3/360 (and vice versa).

However, I see many of you on here have both. Why so? The majority of games for the PS3 are out for the 360, and the majority of games for the 360 are also on PS3. Granted, there are some awesome exclusives to both, but the libraries of the PS3 and 360 are mostly the same.

If I had to have just 2 systems this gen, 360/PS3 would make the least amount of sense unless you just can't live without both their exclusives.

I agree. Now, for a handful of people I can understand why.

For instance, those little niche, fruity-ass JRPGs that no one cares about do get localized for PS3.

Then there are the import shmup games on the 360.

So both platforms have that going for them. Otherwise, the games are almost the same. The PS3 may have more exclusives, but the 360 gets some 360/PC releases that don't end up on PS3 anyway so at the end of the day, the amount of games available to both are almost the same.

Because the exclusives that are there are the best console games of the gen. Halo Reach, MGS4, Gears trilogy, GOW3, etc...

I've been a 360 owner since December 2006. Damn thing died 8 months after I got it.

Sent it off to MS, and the refurb they sent me back died about a year later.Sent that one off to MS, and they sent me back another one and it died about 20 months later.

It's 2010, and my 3 year free replacement warranty is expired. So, I bought a PS3 instead of paying for my 360 to get fixed or buying another 360.

I just felt like trying something new. That, and I needed a Blu-ray player. I have a Wii as well, but I've only owned it for a few months now.

Nearly every single multiplat is better on the 360

and some of the best ones are unplayable on PS3

No point in owning a PS3.

to be able to play all the exclusives offered this gen, but even though I was a Xbox 360 gamer first my main motivation to get the PS3 when I did was because after upgrading to an HDTV the PS2 games just looked horrible, thankfully the first wave of PS3s were BC and deinterlaced the images to look great on HDTVs, that alone is reason enough for me to have one as I love my PS2 games, would have got one eventually though to play the PS3 exclusives

See, I just don't get that. IMO, there are just so few differences in the game library that it doesn't make much of a difference. Again, it's simply my opinion.

The choices, me particularily being a JRPG fans there's localization that interest me. Like Graces F and Ni no Kuni.

Not the Atelier games or Neptunia though, i'd feel bad to play these. >_>

Unless you really, really, really like the exclusives on both platforms, there really isn't one.

They call them the HD Twins for a reason.

Wii60 is the best combo. Super multiplats, awesome Nintendo games, awesome SHMUPs, better online. Can't go wrong unless you're a Yakuza or MGS freak.

I have all 3 current machines strictly for the exclusives. Video games are one of my chosen hobbies and I feel it has the most bang for the buck, so I don't mind shelling out the dough if I have it.I have chosen to skip next gen as there are far too many great titles out now and soon to be released that I will have thousands of hours of fun. That being said, I will be sticking to one console in the future.

its not really that hard a concept to understand. i want to play GOW. GOW is not on the 360.....ill play it on my PS3. I want to play Gears 3. Gears 3 is not on the PS3, so i have a 360. theres MANY reasons to own both systems. if you only look at those big budget titles then yes theres only a few on each system that arent ont he other. thankfully theres many more games than just the big budget ones out there that must be experienced to be enjoyed. Lost Oddysey and Valkyria Chronicles anyone???

Plus exclusives I guess.

All this talk about exclusives, Kameo is still better than every PS3 exclusive I can think of except GOW3. MGS4 gets honorable mention for being on par with Kameo. Kameo is so underrated.

Ugh. That game is the definition of soulless Zelda wannabe. The sad thing is that Kameo had so much potential. Very magical and charming, but the actual gameplay failed to evolve beyond the introduction of powers. You never truly got to play around. If anything, Kameo should have been twice as long, featured more dungeons and some of those awesome bosses. Instead, it felt like half a game with a disjointed intro, a subpar endgame and three short dungeons.

There isn't much of one. I got rid of my first 360, and I sold the second one I got for free without opening it. It's a pretty pointless sytem for a ps3 owner. If I started with a 360, though, I likely would have bought the ps3 and sold the 360.

Why can't I have both Gears of War and Uncharted?

I want to play Alan Wake, but the PS3 can't have it so I get a 360.

God of War looks so cool! but can't play that on the 360.

That's why I have both sir!

I own both. I love me some Halo and Forza, plus favorites like Elder Scrolls perform much better on 360. Ps3 because I'm addicted to Uncharted, Gran Turismo and Killzone, plus many others. Makes for a good bluray player aswell.

I do not want to miss out on any games. At all. So I will have them all. It's actually the psp that I have played the least amount of games for. But there were a few I just needed to have for it. So I bought it. I got so sick of seeing games on competing platforms that I wanted. So I said "Screw it, it won't happen again."

while their libraries are close due to multiplats, however the exclusives games make it worth getting both..

Honestly I like way too much games like GEOW & FORZA series so i had to get a 360.. PS3 has even more exclusives I like so for me it was worth getting both..

I have never bought a multiplat on PS3 that hasn't worked beautifully. In addition, any "exclusive" I've wanted to play on the 360 has been available on the PC for me to buy for $10 cheaper. So yeah, no point in owning a PS3 *Eyeroll*

Heh, my friends usually come to me when they're wanting a new console or something because I always find really good deals on stuff, actually just helped a buddy of mine get a mario bundle 3DS for like 10 bucks after all the specials and coupons and stuff went through :P

Ahhh...so are you like one of those extreme couponers like on that show on TLC? I would love to have the patience and skill for that sort of thing.

haha sort of, except not that hardcore, its easier with gaming because youre only focusing on one thing :P

If you wrote a blog about this, I would read it >.> I consider myself pretty good at finding deals on games and electronics, but you're a freaking god.
