Nearly every single multiplat is better on the 360

and some of the best ones are unplayable on PS3

No point in owning a PS3.

Greyfeld

I have never bought a multiplat on PS3 that hasn't worked beautifully after patches. In addition, any "exclusive" I've wanted to play on the 360 has been available on the PC for me to buy for $10 cheaper. So yeah, no point in owning a PS3 *Eyeroll*

fixed :P

haha sort of, except not that hardcore, its easier with gaming because youre only focusing on one thing :P

Give up Gears , my Cave shmups , Halo , Alan Wake , XBLA , Skyrim (lol) , Uncharted , Killzone , Ratchet , You Crazy ?

Poverty gaming , there's no excuse this late in the gen.

I have a Wii but it is collecting dust for a long time now so you can have that .

The real point is, if you don't know the point of having both a PS3 and Xbox 360, you sir need to think about it again and edit your OP. An apology would be nice for taking away a minute of my life. :P

I understand owning a PS3 + Wii or a 360 + Wii, as the majority of Wii games do not come on PS3/360 (and vice versa).

However, I see many of you on here have both. Why so? The majority of games for the PS3 are out for the 360, and the majority of games for the 360 are also on PS3. Granted, there are some awesome exclusives to both, but the libraries of the PS3 and 360 are mostly the same.

Don't hurt me. *shields face*

RACiEP

there has been plenty of reasons for me.

exclusives, making the ps3 bear all the netflix, home video and picture storage work. making the 360 bear all the dvd playing workload. running netflix on one while playing a game on the other and switching back and forth all day depending on how bored i am with games or tv.

renting 3d movies from ps3's vudu, watching msnbc on xbl, playing 360 games or watching netflix while dling ps3 updates.

i just don't like to have all my eggs in one basket.

Wii60 is the best combo. Super multiplats, awesome Nintendo games, awesome SHMUPs, better online. Can't go wrong unless you're a Yakuza or MGS freak.Eponique

:P that's my problem. Blu-ray also helps.

But since MGS went multiplat and blu-ray will still be the standard movie format next gen, I'm free from Sony's shackles!

Gonna throw away all my PS3 games except MGS4 too, to cleanse my home.

I have a job so, for me it's: does the system provide enough exclusives to warrant a purchase?

IMO both have enough games I can't play on the other system so I bought both, simple as that.

the significance is that its not until the patch comes out, which in some cases even that doesnt fix the problems, that some games "a lot of multiplats "run beautifully". sad that it still happenes this late in the gen too. anyway, yes it is relevant. your unfortunate situation if you choose to overlook the fact.

I have all three consoles and the Wii gets the least play. The 360 is my go to gaming consoles while sure the PS3 has some neat games to play, I found myself using it as a bluray player more which is fine with me because I enjoy watching movies too.

For exclusives, of course. Though if I were going to pair just 2 platforms this gen, that'd be my least likely combo.

To have more games, but since both have the exact same multiplats and a discrepancy in which are better (LA Noire, BF3 better on PS3 slightly, Skyrim and earlier games better on 360 slightly), then its just best to pick one with the best exclusives and get a Wii or PC for some change up in your library.

Personally I got them all, but I play more on my PS3 since my buddies are there, I prefer trophies, and its got a few more enticing exclusives.

Though lately I've been neglecting both for Skyrim and BF3 on my PC, with the occasional SS and Dark Souls run.

If you can afford them all though, that's always cool.

I use my PS3 as a bluray player and my 360 is where I play the majority of multiplats. Also it's really sad how people discount XBLA AND PSN.

its best to have them all that way you dont miss out on any games

RACiEP
See, I just don't get that. IMO, there are just so few differences in the game library that it doesn't make much of a difference. Again, it's simply my opinion.

See now that IS the case. Back in 2006-2007 it wasn't. Anyways. I still get to play some exclusives like alan wake and older games

more games?

Though I would find it a bit overwhelming, two social networks (psn and live), two different consoles with their own amazing exclusives, it's a bit too much if you ask me.

For one thing, you can play all of the exclusives. For another, you can pick the best version of multiplats, which varies a lot more than it used to. And finally, some of your friends might only have one of the consoles, and you can pick the multiplat version that allows you to play together with whichever friend you want to play with. I got the PS3 version of Battlefield so I could play with my dad, for instance.

I think best is PC + Wii. Next is PC + PS3. If for some reason you're excluding pc, then PS3 + Wii would probably be the best.

But apparently its better to buy a system full of games that are low rated and nobody buys. So at least 360 fans buy games.

I agree with TC. I've thought about getting a 360 but I just don't see any reason to. I'm not an avid shooter fan so I'm not gonna buy it for Gears or Halo and I can live without the other exlucsives such as Forza. PS3/Wii or me.

Exlusives and better versions

Most 3 way muliplats go on PC for me,

But PS3 gets the superior Final Fantasy versions

360 gets better versions too (bayonetta for instance)

Both have a great deal of exlusive games to each platform.

Also for third party games that can't decide what platform to stick with. For instance Tales of Vesperia is exlusive to 360 (in english) while Tales of Graces F is PS3 only.

I have both, but pretty much by accident. I bought a 360 first, but then a couple years later my in-laws got the Sony deal from Best Buy and ended up with a 250 gb PS3 and UC2. They knew they weren't going to use the PS3, so they gave it to my wife and I on the condition that we buy them the blu-ray player they wanted. It ended up being a pretty good deal for us. So...I have both and I use both (but not to the extremes of some people!). I like PS3 exclusives better than 360 exclusives, but I typically prefer COD and EA Sports games on 360. I like having a blu-ray player, and for some reason Neftlix seems to run much better on my PS3 (which is weird because they're both on the same connection). With all that being said, I think both are awesome systems, but if I HAD to pick just one...the PS3 would be a better option for me as I like the exclusives better, PSN is free, it's a blu-ray player, and I can deal with any minor differences there may be in the multiplat games that I play...but I have no intention of selling my 360 right now either.
