[QUOTE="Dencore"][QUOTE="Toaster_Cell"]Console FPS games watered down? Okay, whatever keeps you guys on your computers...
Â
Anayway, Sports and Sims are not my favorite.
Toaster_Cell
They are watered down. :|
Â
I don't know what FPS games you've been playing, but games such as Rainbow Six: Vegas and even Halo 2 (SURPRISE!) aren't watered down control wise. I guess you haven't played that many console FPS games.
Â
And yeah, Valve is awesome!
Â
P.S: Just because a console FPS may take a little longer to get used to doesn't mean it's simplified in any way. Maybe controlling a FPS on a computer is rocket science to you, but not to everyone else in the world. Not watered down, now back the topic of this thread, for this shall not turn into another lame "Console FPS control vs. Computer FPS control"
Â
the reainbow six series has been watered down more then any series I can think of....
Â
Can you believe it used to have 1 shot kills for everything at one point....
Â
to bad the last actually tactical rainbow Six game was raven shield....Â

Well in Veags, the PEC (Persistant Elite Creation) was vastly improved on in the multiplayer. A player can wear heavy armor and not take much damage as opposed to somone with a t-shirt and bad arm and leg armor who takes a bullet and drops. It has not been watered down, it has actually became more tactical.....Do I have to say IMO?

you think thats tactical....read the review for the PC version....
Â
"While Rainbow Six Vegas bears little resemblance to its illustrious PC progenitor, that's no reason to write off this engrossing action game. Rainbow Six Vegas is a highly tactical and dynamic first-person action game that fans of realistic shooters should definitely check out."
Â
"The popular tactical shooter franchise originally began on the PC and offered up the first realistic tactical shooting action around. However, over the past few years Rainbow Six fully migrated to the various consoles, and the hardcore, realistic action was watered down quite a bit."
Best: Turn-Based Strategy
Worst: JRPG (at least the ones that hit the US)
Skie7
There's a little trend going on in Japan where TBS *command and conquer* is combinding with JRPG's. This is only with the DS though not consoles. Due to the DS's high sales in Japan, consoles are now shovelware.Â
Worst to me would be sports and racing (only like Gran Turismo and Need for Speed series). Outside of football games, I could care less. And best would either be RPG or FPS.I think its FPS games and the best is Third person shooting.
UR_BEST_FRIEND
ive never enjoyed a racing sim in my life, so ill go with that. LoG-Sacrament
Racing games are the ancient
From best to worst
1.3rd person shooting
2.action/adventure
3.street racing
4.realistic racing
5.sports
7.rpg
8.single player FPS
[QUOTE="sniperpenguins"]sports and life simsccgod
the sims is like the best selling franchise of all timeÂ
i didnt say the ''sims'' i said any thing that simutates real life and stuff like that
[QUOTE="p3anut"]Everyone has their opinions. But I say Western RPG's, wow they suck. JRPG'S>WRPG'SDencore
The only Western RPG I ever liked was GTA, and that was because of the sheer fact that it wasn't too much of a WRPG.
I dont consider GTA as a RPG, sure San Andreas had RPG elements but that does not make it a RPG.Â

Don't talk about my Diablo :evil:Â
[QUOTE="cabjnico"][QUOTE="SunLord592"]JRPG and turn base games. easily the worst kind of genre, IMODencore
yes. all this horsepower for you to take turns when attacking. i'm better off playing pokemon
funny that most jrpg's arent turnbased on consoles.
.

QFT about FPS being the worst. The simplest concept of any genre. just aim and shoot. But it's all about fun right? lol...
Console FPS are one of the top gaming genres.....on PC's. With consoles they're ridiculously dumbed down for controls and the casual community. If you've played PC FPS's developed soley on the PC and still disagree with me, that's fine everyone has their own opinions. Seriously though beat-me-ups from the 80's have more skill and depth then most console FPS's.
halo one one the xbox, best shooter ever.  perfect dark zero and goldeneye for n64...very close contenders. now shut up

I would advise you to go play more shooters....particulary like Half Life....Â

I agree; i think FPS games require the LEAST intellectual involvement. What makes a FPS good has nothing to do with gameplay and EVERYTHING to do with presentation (graphics, setting, storytelling, characters).

Not really true, look at the Half-Life series, and though it's a FPA the Metroid Prime series. FPS can involve gameplay it's just that most console FPS don't because they focus on making a quick buck instead of polishing the game.
Â
And by the way I've seen your posting on this board and you are probably the best poster here *especially for the Wii defending*. :)Â

Racing sims. Seriously, who actually gives a damn about GT and Forza? They're so boring that I can't see why anyone would but them except for the pretty graphics.
Best would be anything turnbased or tactical. Turn Based Strategy, Real Time Strategy, RPG, anything that involves using strategy instead of stupidly rushing the enemy with the shotgun is good to me.
The worst would be beat games. Guitar Hero is crapping up a genre that should be dead already.
And the TC is a troll.Â

WTF?! what r u smokin, JRPG's got by far best story and turn based games r the kind u just cant put down.
I'd say the worst genre is probably fighting games. They're boring after liek 20 mins.
Sports games.GrlGmr
Agree. Why do want to play something you could play outside.Sports.

The Majority of users on this board are PC/360 fans. Those are Western consoles, and similar to how Japanese genre gamers hate Western Games, they hate Japanese games. It's no that their Japanese, they just hate the game mechanics.Â
[QUOTE="Nitrosoft1"]so you're saying fps are the worst and 3ps are the best???
UR_BEST_FRIEND
3ps games are better.
no fps owns 3rd person, 3rd person doesn't work well for a straight shooter, but is great for games like gta, hitman, sc, but halo in 3rd person just wouldn't work, I say platformers or sims like the sims are the most boringÂ
