What's with all the premature "wii will get sooo much games" topics?

It's not like the Wii is right now having so much 3rd party games. It's not. EA has given them support, but so far that's it. No AAA 3rd party games have been announced for the Wii yet. Most multiplats are still missing from the Wii. At least when cows hype their 08 season, they have actual games to back it up. Support is good, what the devs choose to do with that support is different. Wait until the games come out and see whether they chose to make money by making a quirky mini-game and appealing to the casuals or they actually went serious and made games that compare to the level shown in Assassin's Creed, GTA IV, RE5. Remember, at the end, those people are about making money. See if they chose to make money by appealing to the casuals or the cores, then talk.

That's awesome that you can see into the future. Have you told anyone besides us about your powers yet?

Developement takes time. I would imagine a lot of developers started to make games after Wii's success. It hasn't even been a year yet. In time, more announcements will come I'm sure. As for now, the lineup is looking pretty good.

How can you tell if a title is going to be AAA or not? Remember Killzone 1 for example??

Sheep are doing the same thing to...looking into the future, hoping they get good 3rd party support when the truth of the matter (IMO) is that it's not coming. Developers will continue to litter the Wii with...well...litter, and the PS3/360 will get the more big budget games because their install base will always be bigger (and devs can develop for both systems) and they are not limited by massively underpowered hardware.

seems sheep aren't the only ones looking into the future.

and if developers were developing big budget titles for the wii...wouldn't those take longer to develop? meaning longer until they're announced?

That's my exact point. WHEN the games come, talk all you want. MP3 is coming out and the whole gaming world is hyped. When 3rd party titles come out that gets hype half of that not just in the Wii community, but in the gaming community, talk your mouth off. But until then, saying our games will own 360 and PS3 is foolish.

BTW...what's the list?

FlockofSpagheti

Okay here's what I did:

1) Took out all 08,09 or 2010 titles b/c we're talking about 2007. 38 games on that list gone.

2) The bolded games are first party games, since we're talking about 3rd party, those doesn't matter.

3) The 3 italics are sports titles that are coming out for everything including last gen consoles (except GC), so it's not really to Wii's credit that they're getting them. It's a given.

After those, there are 37 3rd party titles remaining that are 3rd party. When you consider the number of casuals on that list, which I didn't count b/c it's not up to me to determine which are casual or not, the number of 3rd party titles coming this year on the Wii is still nothing to be excited about, especially considering how much more is coming to the 360 and PS3.

Sheep, don't respond. Just sit back, chill, and wait. You don't have to argue anything when the truth will become more and more apparent with time.

Another factor was that the Wii's success so far really took devs by surprise for the most part, and it was pretty recent that the devs started projects for Wii games, so it'll take a little time.

If you actually looked into the industry news, you'd know Wii has the most support, I won't say it sucks, but it's definitely not as good as 360 or PS3's.

Do a lot of people have such short memories that they can't even remember E3 '06?

Before E3 '06 (from around Feb. to May), virtually ALL 3rd party support for the Wii/Revolution was COMPLETELY dropped. EA issued a statement saying they would not back it, and many 3rd parties followed suit. Wii had NOTHING to show that was worthwhile from 3rd parties at E3 '06. Up until around September of '06, the negative feelings for the Wii remained, until SONY continued along with their string of blunders. Up until the LAUNCH of the PS3 and Wii in late November, the Wii was still expected to flop, and the PS3 was supposed to be bigger than Rosanne. The Wii did not start gaining back its 3rd party support until the beginning of '07, with the highly successful 3rd and 1st party software sales that were posted in the launch window.

The Wii will get far more support in '08 and '09. It's not a guess. It's a fact.

Does that even matter? They still spend more money then the casuals.
