What's your favorite game genre?

Quite an extensive poll there. And my vote goes to WRPGs.

Strategy games, by far. RTS, TBS, strategy JRPGs, etc. I'm currrently playing the entire Fire Emblem series actually, trying to finish every title released world wide, then i'm going to check out all the japanese exclusives.

For a wile now, there aren't that many genres that have held my attention besides strategy. RPGs, maybe. Rhythm games like Just Dance 2014/2015 have been fun recently with friends.

Mount & Blade.

Strategy games, but WRPG's a close second.

Halo and Gears is a bigger difference than Total War and XCOM? :P

When they are good, strategy games are my favorite.

RTS (Strategy) followed by RPG's and action RPG's.

I play and enjoy games from all kinds of genres apart from Sports Games but Blood Bowl 2 may change that (it looks like a fun game)

Wow almost picked RPGs before I saw JRPG underneath it, also, does the Disgaea series classify as strategy? I know it's a SRPG but that isnt in the poll.

Ofcourse, it's a strategy RPG. Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire Emblem, Shining Force, Valkyrie Chronicles, etc. fall in Strategy on the poll.

First Person Shooters.

Fighting games lately. Probably RPGs overall.

Due to a suggestion given to me, due to how big the poll is, I may do a semi-finals tournament type setting after we get a couple more days worth of votes. They and I noticed. That is a lot of genre's, maybe too many. So once we get top choices in I'll do another narrower thread.

But remember, even if it does look overwhelming, vote anyway, the poll won't hurt you, I promise, I won't cover you for insurance, but I am pretty sure the poll won't hurt you.

RPGs (Western) followed very closely by Strategy games. Nice to see Strategy games getting some love in the poll.

Rpgs and strategy games, while I like other genres those two are my favourite.

Platformer's my specialty,but I don't mind with the others,except current fps,strategy or worst,MMO.

I lol'd over "Edutainment" and "FMV"...do we still have these genres playing in the 2010s? If so,how's it feels like?

But I doubt about the TC's post count,as much as I can see it, shouldn't the TC hit 500 post minimum before making threads here?

@blue_hazy_basic: Although I'm not really a fan of American football (I'm Scottish after all :) ) I guess I'm just a massive Games Workshop fan, I even had the original table top Blood Bowl game and loved it. I played the first Blood Bowl video game as well but it really didn't capture the table top game that well and generally just sucked. Really hoping Blood Bowl 2 will be much better, though I'll definitely be waiting on reviews. Not looking for AAA or anything just stable, playable and captures the essence of the game :)

And the SP AI not to suck giant fat nuts :P

I'm surprised FPS isn't winning. Not much love for competitive multiplayers? (Couter Strike / Battlefield / Halo / CoD / Q3A)?

Hack n slash is the wrong term, they are still beat-em ups. The 3d version, but definitely beat-em ups.
