There cannot be a perfect game. This is why 100/100 reviews are bull****.Taalon
i fully agree that there will never be a game that is universally loved by everyone and everyone calls it perfect, but if you could put together every aspect of games which you loved to try and make a perfect game in your opinion, what would that game have to have for you?
Something that I can play over and over again without getting bored.
Also an epic storyline and catchy/memorable muscal score (like Halo).

Melee is more perfecter.
Nah melle dosent have the shear amount of content brawl has and the music catalogue cant even touch brawls.I think a game with Deus Ex design philosophy is ideal. A game like that set in a world where magic and science mix with some good horrific levels.JiveT
God, I always forget about that game. I got it when it came out on PC back in about 2000 and was just floored. Character progression, storyline changes based on decisions, rich variety of weapons and abilities, fantastic story, had a lightsaber, looked great, it was a pretty perfect game for the time.
A bear and a bird who traverse through different worlds by jumping complete with top of the line visuals for this generation.ZeldaMaster32
That sounds like a Crysis mod I am making...
Life itself is the perfect game.
You only have one life, and you have to survive, and be happy.
That's how the game is played.

Life is overrated and is only fun for the beginning half of the game. It's like Animal Crossing without cute, fuzzy animals living right next door to you.
No game I've ever played is perfect imo. Although RE4 is the closest to perfection I've played. To be perfect, that tile shifting puzzle in Ashley's chapter would have to have not been there, the story could have been less confusing. In other words, there are only 2 things wrong with RE4 imo.

Some kind of gritty Sci-Fi or Fantasy setting. A fully realized world with a real sense of place. It should feel lived in I hate bland empty levels. A rich varity of supporting characters is a must. I want to truly feel the peril characters are in. The story should convey itself through naturally through the gameplay, no lengthly contrived cutscenes. Also great fitting music is a must.
Closest games are RE4 and KOTOR.
[QUOTE="darkspineslayer"]smash bros brawl with megaman model ZX, less load times, 360 grafics and halo 3 quality online play.Shad0ki11
No offense, but that sounds kinda bad besides the reduced loading time idea.
one extra third party charecter, up to date grafics and x-box live quality online play for free sounds bad to you :?
It has to be able to make me cry.supercubedude64
Yes, the perfect game would most definitely have to create some kind of emotional attachment with me, and if it were able to make me cry then that would be one stellar game. In order to do that, the game would have to be epic in scope, many twists, focus on a particular theme, give depth to the characters and meaning behind why they are doing what they are doing and not just cause they are the chosen ones, all these things would create a game I would love.
And while I enjoy the choice to be good or bad in games, I feel that would not fit within my perfect game. I would want to follow the single storyline that was written to perfectly convey the tale from beginning to end without convoluting any of the plot just to make the choices work.
Graphics could be PSone for all I care really because I still find games like FFIX and LoZ: OoT beautiful, although good quality graphics such as FFXIII or Mass Effect would not be a bad thing. I would rather have a great orchestrated soundtrack though than good graphics. Piano medleys strung throughout, music that fits perfectly with each event or experience happening in the game at the time. But its my perfect game, so I can have both! :D
Gameplay, of course, would have to be good too though. Turn-based is okay I guess, but maybe something along the lines of Ninja Gaiden or a more in-depth Kingdom Hearts type of gameplay. The gameplay would most certainly have to have RPG elements to it though, so like a mix of NG and KH.
An MMORPG that is as big as WoW, has no online fee, and has great graphics.
Oh, wait, that's right... It's called Guild Wars 2.

I agree with you completely. Evoking emotion is a must, great music is better than great graphics (and having both is fantastic), and solid gameplay are all important. A game I had in mind was HL2: Episode 2. By the time the credits came up, I was like "Holy balls, am I crying?" Great game.

Really? Episode 2 was that awesome? Well then, I'll be picking up the Orange Box fairly soon now instead of holding out for a while.

If you're the kind of player who can get emotionally attachted to good characters, then yes. Plus, it's just a damn good game. I'd pay 50 bucks just for that one episode.
somthing completely immersive and on a huge, huge scale.like re-creating a galaxy to have a game in... with the millions of solar systems and everything.
