Whats your most favourite HALO game in terms of single player?

Halo CE. Best gameplay (my god, the gameplay), best version of the Flood, best story . Tied with Half Life 2 as the best FPS I've ever played.

And if I see one more person talk crap about the Library Im going to scream. It was designed like that to show you how relentless and endless the Flood are, and it nails it. Just because you got destroyed doesn't mean the level sucks

It was simple gameplay pinky, no need to be hyperbole. it was no Doom or Half life.

Best was probably Halo 3 or Reach.

Worst is ODST.

They should've kept it as Halo Recon and released as an expansion as was intended

Ok? Halo CE still has better gameplay than Doom and Half Life

I don't think it "Nails it " at all.

The level sucks because you get the idea within the first few loading sections. And the level keeps going and going... which wouldn't be so bad if the level design weren't the same thing over and over. You can portray the Flood as relentless in MANY different ways than repeating the same kind of room.

I actually don't mind fighting the Flood. If they just changed around the level design a little bit and maybe put the player in different kind of scenarios other than "hold out here while 343 GS unlocks this door," you could still get the message across that the Flood were relentless. I think that's actually an incredibly cheap way to show the relentlessness of the flood.

In fact, you can tell Bungie was pressed for time with this level and Two Betrayals. Both levels are needlessly repetitive and fail their narrative goals. Keyes and The Maw did a MUCH better job at showing the Flood's relentless nature.

But tbh ive always loved halo but mainly just care about the MP, so halo 2 and halo 3 are the best ones imo

I loved Comat Evolved for what it was and also trying to get through Legendary Mode was a real challenge

CE is the best. Everything about that game is just top notch.

I only ever finished Halo 1 so for me it would be that. I did enjoy it too until the part when the Flud comes, from then on it just got super repetitive and I was glad when i finished it. I got the game to play coop with friends and bought Halo 2 on GFWL for the same reason only I couldn't get over the super low FOV, screen full of guns and weird mouse smoothing Halo 2 had. I dont think I ever played more than two hours of that one. That was enough Halo for me.

I've told you a hundred times I got bored of Doon 2016 halfway through, so why would I want to play an expansion for it?

its different. you have dashing, grappling, more variety in enemy and level design, platforming that change the pace from combat and is very refreshing.

come on pinky, both Doom and Eternal are so much better than animu/girly JRPGs you praised here.

Halo CE and Halo 3 were my favorite. Halo 2 was good also. ODST and Halo 5 were probably the worst.

@pinkribbonscars: The library did suck though, and the flood was one of the biggest "wait...this is it, really?" moments I've ever had in gaming. I remember reading fanboys post about how amazing the flood was, so incredible, yadda yadda yadda back in the day. Finally got around to playing the game maybe 2 years after it launched and was so amazed at how lame the flood actually was and how ungodly horrible that level design was (lazy might be a better description). I still to this day can't figure out what all the excitement was all about?!?

@magnum3000: All of them are great, even Halo 5.

But my all time favorite single player Halo compaign is Halo 2.

This is actually the first time I've seen someone hate on ODST over Halo 5.

We sure hope so. Hopefully 343 isn't Frodo and throws the ring into Mount Doom.

It sucks you didn't have as much fun as I did fighting the Flood in Halo CE. They're some of the best gamng moments I've ever had. Cosmic horror at it's finest.

Far and away Halo 3 for me.

Finally playing ODST, so far I don't think it's a great game but it definitely feels unique.

That is what I see the most. Then again, it makes sense. ODST is the worst rated Halo.

Halo: CE for overall impact on the industry and FPS games. I put more time into Halo 3 than any other online multiplayer game.

Reach sucks.

I have very fond memories of Halo 3, so i'll go with that one.

Halo 4 is good.
