[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"][QUOTE="DarkLink77"]Redemption is still possible. I mean, look at Gears 3. :PDarkLink77Haven't played Gears 2 yet. Was it just the multi that was screwed up or what? Writing was A LOT worse, too. Campaign was good overall, and Horde's fun if you've never played something like Firefight (which is far, far better), but the multiplayer... oh, God, the multiplayer. It was so bad. Words cannot describe how broken Gears 2's MP is. Well, that's good. I liked Gears 1 pretty well for the SP. If I get my Xbox back today I'll play it, since I got a copy a while back...probably check out the multiplayer for lols as well.

Its cool tho, everyone has different opinions :)
Yeah, I even thought Bioshock 2 was better than the first in most ways. :P
Lost Planet 2. First game was some good mindless bug-killin' action. Second game was just frustrating garbage. At least things like Dragon Age 2, Metroid Prime 3, Mass Effect 2, etc. while taking their series in directions I didn't like as much, were functional games. Lost Planet 2 was nearly unplayable. Even Resident Evil 5 was more entertaining (not entirely for the right reasons, but whatever works, I guess).
Also, Marvel VS Capcom 3. Marvel VS Capcom was never a super balanced fighting game, but that Dante wild stomp infinite just shows infinite laziness on the part of the developer.
I'm disappointed in the Dragon Quest 4 and Final Fantasy 4 remakes on the DS, but not enough to never try to finish them. I don't regret buying them though.
It's always interesting to see how varied opinions can be around the internet. MGS4 and ME2 are two of my favorite PS3 games, and I like MP3 (Neon, I stand my ground :P)
For me it would be Far 2 and SF4.
Far Cry 2 didn't even feel like a sequel and for SF4, for me it got too repetitive. Also the character line up was lame and then capcom did what they usually do with SF is milk the consumer with super street fighter 4, then super street fighter 4 arcade edition and finally super street fighter 4 alpha 3 arcade edition.
^^ That is by far my biggest disapointment, *sigh* I wish Crytek made it. It would be like Crysis exept in Africa ! How freaken sweet would that be ?Surprised no one mentioned Far Cry 2

Fable 2. Why the hell did they TAKE AWY features in a SEQUAL? Your suppose add features and new game mechanics not take them away. It was such a shallow RPG.
Grand Theft Auto 4. Terrible compared to San Andreas.

I actually liked GTA 4 alot more than SA. I preferred the more realistic, serious approach.
Resident Evil 5.
I'd watch the trailers everyday being a HUGE Resident Evil fan... got the game, struggled to force myself to beat it with my friend... it was the game that almost made me quit gaming...
Personally, the generation itself was pretty disappointing. I know I expected greater games, longer story-driven much like Half-Life 2 or just bigger worlds to explore in RPGs. Granted we got a few of those, (Oblivion and Fallout come to mind instantly, as well as Just Cause 2 for it's huge open-world with tons of easter eggs scattered in such a big sandbox) but I just expected them in greater quantity.
BioShock 2. I'm also going to mention FFXIII even though its not really a sequal it was a huge dissapointment.
Gran Turismo 5, sure Gears of war 2 might have been bad, GTA 4 Was A pale reflection of San Andreas...
But This Was The Biggest Single Disappointment Ever...waiting 6 years for this piece of crap? and that whole premium/used car affair, god,
I don't see how anyone that has spent any significant time with GT5 could call it crap. It's certainly flawed, but it has fantastic driving physics.Gran Turismo 5, sure Gears of war 2 might have been bad, GTA 4 Was A pale reflection of San Andreas...

Animal Crossing City Folk.
Maybe you shouldn't expect much from an Animal Crossing sequel as compared to its predecessors. However, this game was a true disaster. It was so lazily done that its gimmick (the city) turned out destroying its replay value. The animals were even more of cardboard cutouts with even more limited options when talking to them, the house sizes went back down to the GCN size, they couldn't even give it a new soundtrack, etc.
I don't understand what went through Nintendo's mind in thinking that would make a good sequel. No wait, I do: "The Animal Crossing fanbase is full of idiots who will be happy with anything we give them since they're stuck on the 'You can't change AC much' mindset". You have to admit it is genius. The fanbase really does believe too much change is bad (which is understandable), so Nintendo can easily whip up something mediocre like City Folk and easily release it.
Show me that you still care with Animal Crossing 3DS, Nintendo. If not, this is likely the last time I'll be caring about this series.
