When it comes to performance per unit of volume, the Switch wins by a landslide

PS4 Pro is quite pathetic for its size. I thought Sony was better at hardware design? Xbox One X is looking pretty good.

Since the Switch uses a vanilla X1, it is simple to calculate peak GFLOPS by just knowing the clock speeds and using a formula (used by AnandTech).

The Switch packs a lot of power in a small package.

Well it's not like the switch is running modern games. It's basically just running mobile games.

And Breath of the Wild is light years beyond the caliber of game we often see on mobile. Hell, it's better than most console exclusives we've seen in the last 10 years.

Your Galaxy is a £600 bit of kit though. It's should be able to run BotW. Doesn't make BotW a mobile game though.

Right. And also people are forgetting (or just don't know) that the PS4 has superior low-level APIs. DX12 is formulated to run on many GPUs and is more abstract as a result. More performance can be squeezed out of the PS4 Pro than if it was using DX12 like the Xbox One X.

It's going to be hilarious when one of these "mobile" games become GOTY.

It is indeed a very powerful handheld. They kinda should drop the 3DS already and go full blown Switch.

I was shocked at the tiny size of the console. Great power considering the size. I love the switch personally. Welcome back Nintendo.

The ARM architecture is used in mobile devices for a reason, it's more power efficient meaning you can make the device smaller due to less heat or use a faster GPU. So it makes sense that the Switch is more powerful vs size.

Kudos to Microsoft with the X though, once the system is released we will find out how good the cooling solution is, assuming it will still need to use a whacking great fan to cool it, if it's quieter as well then good on them they might have finally designed something good.

The topic at hand is size / performance, not price.
