I'm far more interested in Dawn of War 2. The expecations and claims surrounding Starcraft 2 are simply ridiculous. I'd rather have a game that I can enjoy than some "it's coming" nonsense over the sequel to a frankly overrated and outdated game.subrosianWell it's about time somebody says this. Starcraft 2's hype is simply undeserved. It seems that just because it's Blizzard it's still acceptable to reuse what will be an 11 year old RTS formula and hype that instead of Dawn of War 2 which is looking to push the genre forward to newer things. It annoys me. Dawn of War 2, Demigod, Empire: Total War, and hell the Sins mini-expansions are more worth hyping than SC2.
... Yeah what is the world coming to.. 3 games, 2 being cheaper then the first.. all 3 ,based on Blizzards track record, jammed packed with more value, content then the majority of full games out there each..Blizzard can still screw it up in fact, they've already begun with their decision to make people buy each campaign seperately. No matter how you spin it, that is a stupid decision.

Games like Company of Heroes and Dawn of War are great, but they simply lack the content, customization and features blizzard has done with its multiplayer.. Not to mention their games are extremely balanced, while games like Dawn of war has had serious REALLy serious balance issues and still some argue stil does...
ive never found starcraft that fun.
but i found STARCRAFT: GUNDAM amusing.
i dont see all the fuss over an rts game or why the sequel is hyped to death.

Then you are mistaken. Starcraft 2 is the only game.

People don't care, it's Starcraft 2. People will sell their houses for this game.
haha that made me crack up lol but it's true i've played 1 for about 10 years now had it since day one and still play itStarcraft 2 is the only game. dream431ca
Oh give me a break.
Have a look at these two videos:
SC2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30MBljXxg3M
DOW2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSN3jvRiBU4&fmt=18
Starcraft 2 looks dated in comparison. SC2 is just a cartoony rehash of a game that came out in 1998.

it's alright to admit that Starcraft 2 is going to take over your gaming life. Don't hide from it, embrace it.

The style of warhammer and SC2 are so different I wouldn't even put them in the same genre. Starcraft is popular for a reason, and it's sticking to that reason.[QUOTE="dream431ca"]Starcraft 2 is the only game. dc337

yeah, but one is made by Blizzard and the other is not....Blizzard is like Valve...they just know what makes games good, they will spend as long as it takes on a game until it comes out...unfortunatly Relic is just not the same in that regard....and no matter how inovative DOW2 is...its not gonna beat Starcraft 2 on the simple basis that its developer is just not as good.Particularly in Multiplayer...which Unforunatly, Is Relic's weak point.

They can hide from the admission, but they can't hide from the Truth :P

Dude, each of the three StarCraft II games is 30 missions long. The original StarCraft had 27 missions, and Command and Conquer: Red Alert had 30. Each of the StarCraft II episodes is totally justified in being its own game. Were they all one game, that one game would be three times longer than it needs to be.

plus they are going to be doing tons and tons of cinimatics and story content for Starcraft 2.
Starcraft 2 doesn't even have a release date, which means that Dawn of War 2 will likely be coming out first. Perhaps it will be a test of temptation for the Blizzard faithful.
Anyways I don't understand how anyone can get so excited about being hunched over a desk for hours while hitting hotkeys. The only thing you win from playing Blizzard games online is a hunchback.
Dawn of War 2 was here Starcraft 2 is a loser.Juggernaut140
The only game I saw in your post was Starcraft 2. The other game just does not belong.

At least there's more strategy than ZERG RUSH KEKEKEKEKEKEKE XD[QUOTE="cloudff7tm"]Seeing as how "Godly" Starcraft is I'm surprised Blizzard didn't take advantage of it much earlier.HoldThePhoneYou mean why they didn't release a new Starcraft every 1-2 years and milk it to death? Well, I guess it's because they are Blizzard.
Yes that's exactly what I mean. Usually a game this popular would of saw a sequel every year or two or a expansion like every month, but I guess Blizzard isn't like that. It's been TEN YEARS since the original. Respect for Blizzard.
Hmmmmm, speaking of Starcraft 2, i just met a develepor for it. Pretty cool guy. I think hes the lead artist there. Said he has worked for Blizzard for 12 years.
Worked on Starcraft 1, Diablo 1,2, Warcraft 1,2,3 and one more i think.
Halo Wars >>>>>>>>>>> Everything else.
Icluding that nerdy and geeky FlopCraft 2.
Playing Halo Wars on my comfy leather couchez n' horny biatchez in my lap = REAL RTS gaming.
Meh, WCIII was good, but not great - at least not nearly to the level of Starcraft. I don't think Blizzard has a legendary RTS in them any more.Shafftehri think its better. And watching W3 replays is so much more fun than koreans doing weird stuff in SC... Dota is very, very, very yummy too.
I can't believe people saying DoW 2 or DoW or hell, even TW is better then Starcraft. SC is the most balanced RTS ever made, DoW is riddled with horrible path finding issues, and stacked races. DoW is **** compared to starcraft, and I have the game (check my xfire).Dynafromlol no
